Hello and welcome to 'Water', the fourth demo to spring from the keyboard of JJF. Yes, I know what you're thinking. "Why's 'ee called this 'ere demo Water? It's a scroller, a logo, a reflection, and some purple bars. Not a water drop in sight!" Well, it get's it's name from the second part of the demo, which simulates the effect of water! To get at this, just whack ESCAPE with all your might. Before you do this, though, perhaps I should tell you how to use this 'watery' part of the demo. Simply use the mouse to move the hand around, and use SELECT and MENU (the left and middle mouse buttons) to draw. You can also use ADJUST (the other button) to erase, and pressing 1,2 or 3 on the keyboard will alter the action of SELECT (small balls, single points, big balls). Oh yes, and you can also use the arrow keys to change the number of water droplets on the screen. Nothing to it, eh? At this point, half of the people watching this demo will press ESCAPE to go onto the next bit, and so won't be reading this, and the other half will be staring dazedly at the immortal words flashing across the screen (ie this scrolltext). Now we get to the traditional part of any scrolltext - the helloes to everyone. Phew - I'm a bit out of breath after all that! Your latest megademo is brilliant!), The Chip Duo, Tom Cooper (does he ever sleep?), AMF (come on, KORC 4 must surely be ready by now!), Software Evolutions (Cubitus, Discrun, Lucky Luke, need I say more?), Dominic Symes (the author of Zap), Arc Angels, and anyone else who owns an Archimedies! Well, have I got anything else to say? Yes. Could someone please design a nice 95-character mode 13 font for me? I'm getting a bit fed up with this one - I've used it in all of my demoes so far! Well, do I have anything left to say, or have I exhausted my imagination? Let's find out, shall we? Does anybody know how to open the safe in Spysnatcher? It's driving me batty. I know that the poem on the memo contains the combination. The first line is easy - it relates to a Christmas song (you know - Three French Hens, Two Turtle Doves, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree, dum dum dum, etc.), I think I've got the third line sorted (a single, perfect digit), the fourth line is pretty simple (just draw it), but the second line has well and truly beaten me. Help! Now then, you may think that I am running out of things to say. Well, it's true that I've less to say now than I did at the start of this scroller, but never fear! I've not finished yet! Errrmmmm... Hummmmmmm... Hows about some anagrams (truth - I need some time to think of something to say). Here we go, what words are these: IHSF, BERTTOC, RONCA, SNEP, PLOPFY? Do you know, I'm getting tired of hearing one of my mates attack my A3010. I wouldn't mind, but he's only got a 386 PC. And what is my opinion of PC games? Pretty pathetic, as a rule. Most of them wouldn't sell even one copy if they were released for the Archimedies. But there's one or two gems amoungst them. A game I find especially addictive is a Shareware game called Grand Prix. Instead of the usual 3D racing attempt, we get a Formula 1 team management game, with you as the ultimate boss who can hire and fire drivers and staff (but the drivers all have one-year contracts, which must be fulfilled in full), as well as designing and building new cars and deciding what tyres to use. An excellent game. And now, the moment you've all been waiting for - the answers to the anagrams. In order, they were FISH, OCTOBER, ACORN, PENS and FLOPPY. Alas, it is now time for JJF to depart from your screens. Farewell! Goodbye! Adios! Go on then, go! I don't know, some people... Look, why are you still reading this scroller? It's over.
