  80. found all over [700Europe] and the Middle
  81. East. Now, lions are found in [500Africa],
  82. and live mainly in the grasslands.

  85. tail), with females a little shorter.
  86. Shoulder height is about 110cm.

  88. Hunting by day or night, lions eat

  102. Lions live together in a family group
  103. called a pride. A pride includes several
  104. adult males, many females and cubs,
  105. some of which may be nearly fully grown.

  107. Most of the hunting in the pride is done
  108. by the females (lionesses). They usually
  109. work as a group, surrounding prey and
  110. then moving in.

  112. The males defend the pride from males
  113. outside the pride - the mane makes
  114. them look bigger and more powerful,
  115. even though it is just fur.

  150. Tigers have stripes to help them blend
  151. into the tall grasses where they live. A
  152. tiger in tall grass is very difficult to
  153. see and this helps the tiger stalk its
  154. prey.

  156. It can move very silently because of its
  157. padded feet, and when it is close enough
  158. will pounce.

  160. Small prey is killed with a bite to the
  161. back of the neck, but larger prey is
  162. suffocated.

  176. Sometimes this cat has a black coat
  177. and so is called a black panther, even
  178. though it is really just a black coated
  179. leopard.

  182. into snowy mountains, it hunts in the
  183. morning, late afternoon and at night on
  184. all types of deer and antelope, baboons,
  185. jackal, hares and large birds.

  199. The Jaguar is a heavily built compact
  200. cat with powerful legs and a large,
  201. roundish head. The body colour can be
  202. anything from yellowish brown through
  203. to browny red.

  205. The Jaguar likes to live near water in
  206. tropical forest and savannah. Hunting 
  207. at dawn and dusk, prey includes
  208. capybara (a large rodent), deer, fish,
  209. monkeys, turtles & frogs. Although the
  210. Jaguar is a good climber, it usually 
  211. attacks prey on the ground.

  231. cat. These cats spend much of their time
  232. on their own, and unlike other big
  233. cats, do not roar.

  249. between a big and small cat.

  416. The domestic cat is thought to be
  417. decended from the African wild cat,
  418. and was kept by ancient peoples to
  419. keep rodents away from stored crops.

  422. nubian (region in [500Africa]) Kadis, and
  423. has similar sounding names in many
  424. different languages: katt, katze, Kot,
  425. Kots, Chat & gatto.
