config.*: Fill in the fields with settings appropriate for you.|MThen click on the "Configure" button to do the work.
config.modem: Select your type of modem.|MIf it is not listed, "Other (ATZ)" should work, provided you have set up the modem appropriately.
config.serial: This is the port used to connect the modem to the computer.|M"Internal" means the computer's built-in port; or you may be using a Dual Serial Port card.
config.cable: This selects which block driver to use, depending on whether you have a Archimedes type cable or a "standard" PC type cable.
config.speed: This is the baud rate of your serial port to modem connection.|MSuggested value is 57600 for a RiscPC or with a Dual Serial Port card, 19200 otherwise.
config.btorhg: Select this if you want the option of dialling via a Mercury line.
config.hgpin: Enter "131,xxxxxxxxxx" where xxxxxxxxxx is your 10-digit PIN, or "132" if using the newer 132 service.|MIgnore it if you don't have Mercury.
config.hglocal: If set, Mercury will be used for your nearest PoP as well as the other two (if Mercury available).
config.pop1: Select your preferred Point of Presence to dial - typically the one with the cheapest phone call.|MYou will also get two other PoPs to choose from.
config.pop2: Select your second choice Point of Presence to appear on SLIPdial's menu.
config.pop3: Select your third choice Point of Presence to appear on SLIPdial's menu.
config.node: Change this to your node name in the Demon domain.|ME.g. if "yourmc" then your site address is "yourmc.demon.co.uk".
config.dempw: Enter your chosen password needed when you connect to Demon.|MIt should be 5 to 8 characters long, containing at least one letter and one digit.
config.ip_addr: This is the IP address issued to you by Demon.|MDiscovered when you initially connect to Demon to set your password.
config.getip: If you select this, then when you click on Configure, !DemConfig will run !SLIPdial to dial Demon, set your password (if not already done) and get your IP address.|MIt will then return to !DemConfig to complete the configuration.
config.userid: This identifies the main user of the system.|MYour e-mail address will be of the form "jbloggs@yourmc.demon.co.uk".|MOther users can be added using Newsbase's Setup option.
config.realname: This is your real name.|MIt is put in parentheses in the "From:" field of outgoing mail and news.
config.org: This field is put in the "Organization:" field of outgoing mail & news.|MYou can use it to tell people a bit more about yourself.|MIf in doubt, just set it to "Home".
buttons.0: Click this to abandon the program without doing any configuration.
buttons.1: Click this to start the configuration process.
