----------------------------------------
!All - A multi purpose utility.
Version 2.00
Author - The Raj.
Provides various file functions.
----------------------------------------
!All's main window shows various buttons
that change the way !All affects any files
dragged onto its icon.
Functions :
Trash
-----
Simply deletes any file dragged to it.
Protect
-------
Locks the file against deletion, including !All's
trash function.
UnProtect
---------
Does the opposite.
File info
---------
If you have a file, but can't remember what the
filetype number stands for, !All will tell you
which application the file comes from. (Or try to)
which means you don't have to trawl through the
harddisk until you find an application that can
recognise it. Can currently identify an amazing (?)
138 different file types. The application directory
contains a spritefile with loads of filetype icons
which you can iconsprite in order to achieve the same
effect. However it does use up quite a lot of memory
to do this. (85k of module space, approx)
Dos map
-------
By looking at the extension of a DOS file (eg JPG),
!All will change the file's filetype from DOS to
the correct type (eg &C91) and also rename the file
to something more readable. So DWARF/JPG would
become Dwarf with filetype JPEG. Will just lower
the case of any file dragged to it without the '/'
extension.
Toolsprite
----------
Drag a sprite file of new desktop tools to the !All
icon and it will *Toolsprite it.
IconSprite
----------
As above, with *IconSprite.
Opener
------
Any Application directory dragged to !All will be
opened as if it had been Shift-Selected.
Backdrop
--------
Drag a sprite to !All and it will be tiled on the
(Risc OS 3.1 only) backdrop. This can be useful to
test out a variety of different backdrops quickly.
DateStamp
---------
Click on this icon and the current time will be
shown in the text icon above. Additionally,
any files dragged to !All will be datestamped with
the current date and time.
Future improvements :
More functions could be added, I suppose, such as
Ctrl-Shift opening of directories, ADFS 0 dismounting,
more extensive filetype guessing and anything else
I can think of.
