---------------------------------------------------
Drum Machine Version 0.7 May 1995
By The Raj
(Provisional release)
---------------------------------------------------
Purpose :
--------- This program contains eight samples taken
from a Pearl factory drumkit that can be arranged
into patterns, possibly to act as a percussion
accompaniment for a guitarist. (Like my mate Dave)
N.B.
This is a provisional release and an improved
version will be available soon.
Use :
----- The program can store up to 16 patterns
arranged sequentially. It only uses patterns up to
the furthest one fast-forwarded to. The volume
(and stereo position, next release) of each of the
eight samples can be changed with the mouse.
Mouse :
------- Select places a beat on a sample line or
changes stereo positioning/volume. It also
selects the ff/rew/play controls on the control
panel.
Adjust removes a beat and also stops the
rhythm playing if play has been pressed. Simple
huh?
Saving / Loading :
------------------ The program asks for a filename
(only the leafname is needed, ie Bossa, not
SCSI.Oversized.$.PD.Rubbish.!DrumMachn.etc.Bossa)
It will then ask for confirmation and attempt
to load or save the named file.
Tempo and stereo/volume information is saved
with the file.
Improvements :
-------------- Yes. Needs a few, such as *much*
better file handling. (Currently very bodged)
Could also do with user-definable samples and a
way to get the dratted thing to only play certain
patterns. This will all be fixed in release V1.00.
Stereo will work too. (Don't know why it doesn't at
the moment.) This release is very simplistic but
you can at least set up simple rhythms. The full
version will use an entirely different method
for entering notes and changing individual note
volumes.
