Welcome! If you have used previous FreshFish CDs you will notice that
there are major changes for this FreshFish release. Please take a few
moments to read this short file.
First, the user interface has improved substantially. Most icons now have
MetaTool as their default, which allows you to decide which tool you would
like to use to view text files, AmigaGuide files, pictures, etc. You will
have the opportunity to select these tools during the installation process
if you select average or expert mode.
Second, there is a new Installer script that takes care of the details of
preparing your system to use the FreshFish CD. Unlike previous releases
it is no longer necessary to change or add any startup scripts and reboot
prior to using FreshFish. Simply run the Installer script and start ex-
ploring. The installation will make no permanent changes to your system
without asking you to confirm them, even in novice mode.
Third, many more things are now accessible via AmigaGuide, making Fresh-
Fish much more user friendly. You can explore much of the CD, including
reading documentation, running Install scripts, running programs, viewing
pictures, running animations, searching for specific material, etc, with-
out ever leaving AmigaGuide or touching a CLI window.
There are other changes as well, but these are documented in the top level
README.guide file. You should now run the INSTALL script and then start
using FreshFish.
Have fun!
