- This Public Domain release of 'Dynamic Skies V1.0' requires 1 meg minimum
- of RAM and a kickstart 1.3 or later. But I counsel a 2.0 or better a 3.0
- system, for they behave better with certain bugs. An ideal configuration
- should be a 1200 or a 4000 with hard disk. Anyway, future releases won't be
- compatible with kickstart 1.3, unless I'm begged to.
-
- To install 'Dynamic Skies' on hard disk, the process is very easy :
- With WorkBench help, drag the 'Dynamic_Skies' drawer at the desired path. The
- main program always expects its data drawer 'DSData' to be in the same drawer
- as itself.
-
- The fonts required, may be installed in the system drawer 'fonts', but
- you can leave them at their current directory in the 'Dynamic_Skies' drawer.
- 'diskfont.library' should of course be present in your system drawer 'libs:'.
- If you lack a hard disk, have a WorkBench disk ready for this library.
-
- To start Dynamic Skies from a Shell, remember to 'cd' to its directory
- before, then type 'DynamicSkiesDP' without arguments. On the other hand, from
- WorkBench, double-click on the Dynamic Skies icon.
-
- If the program refuses to start, you're probably short on memory. Close
- unnecessary applications and make an attempt again. With RAM-poor Amigas
- ( like 1 Meg ), you may even forget the WorkBench.
- If the problem is still there, you're likely to miss some files. Check
- that 'Cat2000_mag4','BasicNGC' and 'English' directories are present
- respectively in directories 'DSData/Starlibs', 'DSData/Objectlibs' and
- 'DSData/Configs/Languages'. Dynamic_Skies remembers its Config file but may
- be confused if these above files are missing. With total refusal of starting
- , just trash the 'Config.data' file in 'DSData/Configs' directory. The
- program will then run a default configuration with the files mentionned. You
- may then save your configuration ( Project menu ).
-
- Have a nice trip among the stars, and if this program interests you,
- be smart and register for more fun ! ( and serious work too ! ). Just have
- a peep at the 'Register.doc' file in the 'docs' drawer.
