  1. Short: "MultiView"-type program (and much more!) for WB2.x/3.x

  5. MegaView is a "Multiview"-type program running on all Workbench version
  6. later than 2.0 (Kickstart 37.175). It is basically a frontend for viewer
  7. programs, but it can recognize the type of a file (Text, ILBM, GIF...) and
  8. invoke a viewer/other program on this file. MegaView is extensible,
  9. meaning that new file types can easyly be added to the set of types it
  10. already knows, and for each type an action can be specified, that will get
  11. executed with the file name. MegaView can be an AppIcon or a AppMenu on
  12. your Workbench, or can be used from a shell. New to this version (2.0) is
  13. the possibility to search a set of paths for a file (i.e. a MAN function),
  14. some bug fixes, and a MUI-Based Editor for the FileActions. See the
  15. documentation for a full feature list. Here are only a few:

  30. You can use MegaView for all viewing purposes, as well as things like
  31. automatic compilation of C programs, TeX processing without a shell, etc.
  32. Can even be downgraded to serve as a printer spooler, choosing the right way
  33. to print each file.
