  14.      The mmeemmccmmpp() function compares byte string _b_1 against byte string _b_2.
  15.      Both strings are assumed to be _l_e_n bytes long.

  17. RREETTUURRNN VVAALLUUEESS
  18.      The mmeemmccmmpp() function returns zero if the the two strings are identical,
  19.      otherwise returns the difference between the first two differing bytes
  20.      (treated as unsigned char values, so that `\200' is greater than `\0',
  21.      for example).  Zero­length strings are always identical.
