- VERSION 2.0 Dated 15 February 1994
-
- Well, here it is once again, this time almost totally rewritten to take
- advantage of the newer operating systems. Tested heavily on Workbench 2.0+,
- 68000's to 68040's and CDTV's, to the best of my knowledge Enforcer hit free.
- Now much easier to use, with some added features such as two separate lists
- (Keywords | Filenames), goto the start of a letter for either list by pressing
- the equivalant keyboard character, printing of current (Disk | Hit | Union)
- contents data based on where you are at the time. All available through Menus
- or keyboard shortcuts. -HTM-
-
- REQUIREMENTS: 1) Version 2.0+ of the operating system
-
- 2) Hard Drive to store the files, no longer operates from
- floppy disk due to size of data files.
-
- 3) Data files must be either
- a) In the current directory
- or
- b) RMData: assigned to their location
-
- 4) ReadmeMaster must be either
- a) In the current directory
- b) In your path
-
- How to use this program if you meet the aforementioned requirements:
-
- From CLI - type ReadmeMaster Interlace Filenames
-
- From WorkBench - Edit tooltypes for ReadmeMaster Icon
-
- DICTIONARY=KEYWORDS or DICTIONARY=FILENAMES
- INTERLACE=YES or INTERLACE=NO
-
- - Double Click on ReadmeMaster Icon
-
- As you can see you can alter how ReadmeMaster starts up through command line
- parameters or icon tooltypes. The default is no interlace and keywords.
-
- Once the program starts it will only take it a few seconds to load its files
- and then you may begin.
-
- ReadmeMaster's window opens on its own screen 1 pixel down from the top of
- the screen for those of us who switch screens with the mouse.

- Explanation of Gadgets:
-
- Dictionary Side:-
-
- Scroller - is used to scroll through the Dictionary. It does so in
- very large chunks because you are actually moving through
- about 425K of memory. Goto the start of a letter for either
- list by pressing the equivalant keyboard character. By
- pressing the left mouse button on either side of the scroller
- box you will page up or down.
-
- Arrows - are used to go up and down through the Dictionary one word
- at a time.
-
- Middle:-
-
- Hits | Unions - is used to tell the program that you only want to lookup
- the Contents descriptions that are either Hits (sum of hits
- on words selected) or UNIONS (common hits on words selected).
-
- Hits greater than 99 will not be displayed. It really is of
- value to do so. This is because I wanted as much room as
- possible for displaying words. Any word with a number of
- hits greater than 99 will be displayed as two asterisks.'**'
-
- Next - is used to lookup the next hit.
- Prev - is used to lookup the previous hit.
-
- Clear - clears all selections.
-
- Slider - is used to view Contents files for any Disk number.
-
-
- Bottom:-
-
- ListView - is used to scroll through apllicable Contents descriptions.
-
- Selecting :- - is accomplished by pointing to the word in whatever area
- Unselecting:- and pressing the left mouse button. Thanks Ron.
-
-
- Menus:- - are available for switching between Keywords or Filenames,
- About text, Printing, and Quitting.
-
- I would like to especially thank Bill Faulkner and Ron Whitaker for their
- support and guidance throughout this project, all contributors of money
- to version 1, and Fred Fish for the AmigaLibDisk collection.
-
- If anyone has any comments, suggestions, or problems I would greatly
- appreciate a call as long as it is during a reasonable hour, or a letter.
- Please take the time with problems to document exactly how you got it,
- as this is the best way to track them down and find a possible solution.
-
- Donations may be made to the author at the following address if you find
- the program to be of some use in locating data in the AmigaLibDisk
- Library.
