  10. I. System Requirements
  11.   The Ice Princess should run on any Amiga with AmigaOS 1.3
  12. or higher and 1 MByte of RAM. "Should" means that I only had the chance to
  13. test the game on an A500, A2000 and A4000 under AmigaOS 1.3 and 3.0. If this
  14. demo runs on your system, then the registered game should run, too.

  16. II. Limitations in this demo
  17.   This is only a demo of the game! The demo has the following
  18. limitations:
  19.   - You can't save or restore your game position
  20.   - Scripting has been disabled
  21.   - The size of the game area is limited
  22.   - There are no built-in hints
  23.   Anything else works like in the registered version.

  25. III. Getting started
  26.   To start the demo, just double-click the game's icon. If your computer
  27. should crash before the game opens its screen, try to run it from the CLI, but
  28. remember that the game needs a very large stack (about 50000 bytes),
  29. so type Stack 50000 before starting the game.
  30.   The game requires the diskfont.library and the mathieeedoubbas.library.
  31. Make sure that both libraries are in your LIBS: drawer, otherwise the game
  32. might crash.

  34. IV. First steps
  35.   After the game has loaded, you'll see the prompt (>) on your screen.
  36. The prompt tells you that the game is waiting for your input. You can control
  37. the game using plain English sentences such as TAKE THE BALL, LOOK AT THE
  38. FROG or ASK THE IDIOT ABOUT THE DEAD MOUSE.
  39.   As your first input, you should type LOOK AT THE CHILDREN. Press RETURN to
  40. finish your input. Try to go NORTH. You'll notice that you need ice-skates
  41. to walk on the ice, so GO NORTHWEST and PUT ON THE ICE-SKATES.
  42. Yo can now go EAST on the lake. APPROACH THE GIRL and follow
  43. her NORTH. You're now north of the lake. Good luck!

  45. V. It's Shareware!
  46.   The Ice Princess is shareware! This means that if you want
  47. more than this demo, you'll have to pay for it - 10,-- DM, to be more exact.
  48. Please send only cash and only D-Mark. Packaging and postage
  49. is included in the price, so it should be a fair price.
  50.   Anyway, I released this game not as shareware to earn money with it... it's
  51. just because some dealers offer single PD programs on one disk for the price
  52. of five disks and that I want to keep my games from such a fate.
  53.   Furthermore, each registered game comes along with some "goodies" you'll
  54. need to solve the game, plus a built-in hintbook which helps you when you're 
  55. stuck and a special enhanced OS2.0-Version.

  62.   You'll receive your game disk, a printed instruction manual, and the Amiga
  63. Mipric Story System Reference Sheet. The game disk also contains a special
  64. interpreter version for OS2.0 and higher. This version supports ASL-requesters
  65. and allows you to change the environment of the game (screenmode, colours,
  66. font).

  68. VI. Updates
  69.   Yes, there will be updates! I will keep both the interpreter and
  70. the story up to date and offer free updates from time to time. So
  71. when you discovered a spelling mistake (sorry about that), bugs or if you
  72. think there should be another way to solve a certain puzzle... write me!
