OBJECTIVE Challenging short-term assignments on a contract or hourly
basis, preferably part-time or limited duration assignments.
SKILLS Design and programming. I like technically challenging areas
such as systems programming, language processing, and applied
mathematics. I learn things well and do quality work quickly.
EXPERIENCE PETERSON SOFTWARE SERVICES: Principal. October 1991 - Present.
Developed GFFT spectrum analysis program in C. (Also have been
taking care of my mother who has lung cancer.)
G.E./CALMA/PRIME/COMPUTERVISION: Principal Software Design
Engineer, October 1983 - October 1991. Designed and developed
new products and enhancements in the systems, core, database,
object technology, and user programming language areas of major
CAD/CAM systems. Languages: C, object oriented C, assembler
(VAX and 68000), Lisp, and FORTRAN. Systems: VMS and Unix.
FCTCPAC (U.S. Navy Civil Service): GS-11 Computer Systems
Programmer, March 1980 - October 1983. Developed an authoring
system for Computer Aided Instruction. This included
interactive graphics, language processing, and system software
development. Languages: FORTRAN and PDP-11 assembler.
VALIDITY CORPORATION: Computer Programmer, January - March
1980. Designed and implemented publications tracking database
programs for the U.S. Navy using FORTRAN.
POMONA COLLEGE PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT: Student Research
Assistant, June 1976 - September 1978. Designed experiments
and computer programs to perform basic research in human
auditory and visual perception. Wrote programs to digitally
synthesize sounds, control experiments, and analyze data.
Languages: FORTRAN and PDP-11 assembler.
UCLA BRAIN RESEARCH INSTITUTE: Lab Assistant, June 1975 -
September 1975. Developed support programs for neuro-
physiological research. Language: Basic. System: PDP-8e.
POMONA COLLEGE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT: Student Research
Assistant, NSF grantee, June 1974 - January 1975. Developed
APL functions to decode molecular structures written in
Wiswesser Line Notation. System: DEC 10.
EDUCATION B.A. POMONA COLLEGE, 1978, Experimental Psychology. Won
special distinction for senior thesis in auditory perception.
Completed difficult science major courses--General and Organic
Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, and Differential Equations--with
3.8 GPA. Also got A's in Lisp (1983) and C (1984) in extension
classes. Started programming in 1972 by completing two classes
in FORTRAN at a junior college while attending High School.
