Yet another means of obtaining a "head" was that used by the Electrical Development Company, later called the Toronto Power Company. The plant was located above Niagara Falls. Water was guided through intakes to the wheel-pit which is shown here under construction. The turbines were located at the bottom of the pit and water was discharged through a tunnel under the river to an outlet on the face of the Falls.
