The boom period of mine incorporations in the 1890s was a heyday for the small prospector and speculator. This slide shows one of the smaller operations, a far cry from the major mine properties of the West Kootenay, Slocan or Boundary. If such small operations proved out they might seek financial backing and develop into major mine companies. More commonly, however, the prospectors would sell out to the larger mining or promotion companies.
