  6. Materials: 2 Skeins knitting worsted
  7.            size H hook
  8.            wooden dowel
  9.            pieco of plastic foam
  10.            small ornament to decorate

  12. Top Section: Round 1: Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.  Ch 1, 10 sc in
  13.                       ring, join.
  14.              Round 2: Ch 3, 5 dc in each sc around, join.
  15.              Round 3: Ch 3, 3 dc in each dc around, join and break off.

  17. 2nd Section: Round 1: Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.  Ch 1, 10 sc in
  18.                       ring, join.
  19.              Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in each sc around, join.
  20.              Round 3: Ch 3, 3 dc in each dc around, join.
  21.              Round 4: Repeat round 3 and break off.

  23. 3rd Section: Round 1: Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.  Ch 1, 10 sc in
  24.                       ring, join.
  25.              Round 2, 3,and 4: Ch 3, 2 dc in each st around, join.
  26.              Round 5: Ch 3, 3 dc in each dc aroun, join and break off.

  28. 4th Section: Round 1: Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.  Ch 1, 10 sc in
  29.                       ring, join.
  30.              Round 2, 3,and 4, 5, and 6: Ch 3, 2 dc in each st around, join.
  31.                       At end of round 6 break off.

  33. 5th Section: Do same as 4th section but with 7 rounds.  You can make this
  34.                      tree as large as you wish just by making more sections,
  35.                      each with 1 extra round.

  37. To Assemble: Put wooden dowel in piece of plastic foam.  Slip sections down
  38.              over dowel, largest one first.
  39.  
  40. Variation: On alternate sections add a row of sc (in a contrasting yarn) on
  41.            the outer edge to resemble garland wrapped around the tree.
