Tatting needles instead of a shuttle? Much, MUCH easier!
There are two slim books that I learned from that I would
recommend to anyone. The books have detailed photographs
that very *clearly* show, as well as writen instructions,
on how to tat with needles.
The books are:
Needle Tatting, book 1 & book 2. Copyright by Barbara
Foster, 1990. ISBN 1-883432-00-6 (2 volume set).
The books and needle sets can be mail-ordered from Tools
'n' Things, 2260 La Mar Court, Concord, CA 94518
510/798-9157. This business is run out of a private home
so if you call, don't expect a "business" answer!
They sell the books for $12.00 and the needle sets (3
needles to a set) from $12.00 to $17.00.
I highly recommend the books/needles to you if you'd like
to learn on your own. I will NEVER go back to tatting with
a shuttle!
