  7.     After his spectacular debut last year with Boyz N The
  8. Hood, director JOHN SINGLETON was asked what sort of film he
  9. would make next. "A masterpiece," said the young tyro. Not
  10. according to insiders who have seen a rough cut of Singleton's
  11. latest, Poetic Justice, starring Janet Jackson and rapper Tupac
  12. Shakur. The audience turned thumbs down when Columbia Pictures
  13. held a test screening last month. Singleton lately has been
  14. reshooting some scenes.
