  7. I%1, med, egg
  8. I%1, cup, flour
  9. I%1, tsp, salt
  10. I%1, tsp, cinnamon
  11. I%1, tsp, baking soda
  12. I%1/4, tsp, cloves
  13. I%1/2, cup, walnuts, chopped (optional)
  14. I%1 1/2, cups, apples, raw, finely diced
  15. I%2, T., water, hot
  16. I%1, tsp, vanilla

  19. R%Cream butter and sugar, add egg.  Disolve soda in hot water.
  20. R%Add liquid and dry ingredients.  Add apples last.  Pour into a
  21. R%9 x 9 greased pan and bake for 30 - 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
