WARNING - WARNING - WARNING - WARNING - WARNING
The recommended INSTALL procedure uses a self-extracting
archive '.EXE' file called C-01.EXE. This procedure will
load 139 files (about 700k) to the drive and sub-directory
that you specify during the INSTALL. Sysops take notice!!
IMPORTANT NOTE: This application will execute on a 720k
diskette, but it will NOT load to 720k. The un-archiving
process will require at least 1,100k while un-archiving.
The 1.2 and 1.44 meg diskette formats should be fine to
unarch and use Compu-Chef from other than a hard drive.
1. Always use the INSTALL from drive A: provided with this
application to install Compu-Chef. As a hard disk user, the
programs and files will self-install on your C: drive in the
newly created sub-directory: \COMPCHEF if you use the defaults
contained in the INSTALL program. We recommend using the
defaults.
2. If you MUST load Compu-Chef to a drive other than C: or
you must specify a directory other than \COMPCHEF\, then DO
NOT use the INSTALL batch file provided. Refer instead to the
README.2ND file which details loading Compu-Chef into specialized
environments (such as bulletin boards, users with mulitple hard
disks, etc.).
3. Get a copy of the manual immediately after the installation
by typing "COOKMENU M" at the DOS prompt. The printer must be
on-line. The manual is 25 pages.
4. Read the manual to familiarize yourself with the many
aspects of Compu-Chef.
5. Users that have loaded the ShareWare copy of Compu-Chef
will receive many prompts from the self-extracting process
asking whether, or not, you wish to overwrite files. You
should answer 'Y' to the OVERWRITE Y/N prompts in all cases,
but especially for any .EXE files always answer 'Y' (you
definitely want the current version of the programs).
