  10.   Let's check out the battery.  Some are  sealed  units and do not require
  11. periodic maintenance.  Others have covers similar to the drawing or  small
  12. round covers which can  be removed.   CAUTION!  Do  NOT  smoke  around the  
  13. battery when you open a cap.  Batteries have been known to explode. If you 
  14. do not want to be viciously scarred by sulfuric acid . . . DON'T smoke  at  
  15. any time the battery is checked!  This can't be emphasized too strongly!

  25.   The  only  liquid which  should be  added to  your battery  is distilled
  26. water.  Tap water can be used is an emergency but is not recommended.  Too
  27. many chemicals  and lime in  normal tap water.   I suggest  you also buy a
  28. battery bulb for  filling the cells.  It's too easy to spill the water all
