  1. FRACTAL DESIGN PAINTER 4.0 DEMO

  4. This demo is a save-disabled, working version.  It includes no documentation 
  5. of features or techniques.
  6.  
  7. Since its introduction in 1991, Fractal Design Painter has consistently 
  8. wow-ed the graphics market with its blend of innovative features and graphics 
  9. pizzazz. Painter is the original Natural-Media paint program, simulating the 
  10. tools and textures of traditional artists tools. In addition to Natural-Media 
  11. painting, Painter has brought many firsts to the graphics market, including 
  12. multiple floating selections, frame-by-frame animation, synthetic lighting and 
  13. texture, and the Image Hose¬. The mission of Painter, and of Fractal Design 
  14. itself, is to invent the richest set of graphics creation tools available.

  16. This new version sports usability improvements in almost every area of the 
  17. program, as well as some eye-popping new technologies. The eagerly anticipated 
  18. resurrection of Shapes integrates vector drawing tools with Painter's bitmap 
  19. editing features. The new Mosaics feature introduces an incredible new look 
  20. for digital artwork. Net-Painter brings the first environment for collaborative 
  21. artwork creation to desktop graphics products. And our new Internet graphics 
  22. feature makes Painter the easiest, most seamless solution for creating Web images.

  24. With the ability to directly import graphics from Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator 
  25. and Macromedia Freehand, (including the conversion of Photoshop layers to Painter's 
  26. floaters), Painter becomes a tremendous integrator of graphics data, as well as a 
  27. powerful creation program. Now professionals can mix vector and raster information 
  28. with complete flexibility. The new Patterns palette and Nozzles palette enables the 
  29. quick creation of self-tiling patterns (including half-drop patterns), and scaleable 
  30. Image Hose nozzles. Painter 4 includes the new Painter 4 CD-ROM with 100 new stock 
  31. photographs from PhotoDisc, hundreds of paper textures, patterns and nozzles.

  33. IMPORTANT:  To run the Painter 3 demo, you MUST have QuickTime on the Macintosh, or 
  34. Microsoft Video for Windows 3.1 VFW) installed on your computer. Video for Windows 
  35. is built into Windows 95.  The demo will not run if these system software components 
  36. are not present.  We do not provide this software with the demo. QuickTime is available 
  37. from Apple computer and ships with System 7.5. The runtime version of VFW version 1.1e 
  38. is available for download at the Microsoft FTP site.  The filename is WV1160.EXE and
