  12.  The program "BANalyzer" is a software with various functions: It is both
  13.  an electronic library and databyse referring data communication.

  15.  The BANalyzer ...

  17.  - is one of the most important libraries about LAN and WAN protocols 
  18.    including many traces of data communication;
  19.  
  20.  - visualizes LAN and WAN data traffic: you can move "frames" on a 
  21.    virtual medium to get the protocol explained;

  23.  - supplies you with extensive libraries to make troubleshooting easier:
  24.    standards, literature, error archive ... and you may fill in your own
  25.    experiences, too.

  27.  In summer 1994, more than 100 LAN and WAN protocols and derivates are
  28.  "decoded" by our BANalyzer (some of them not yet completely); this could
  29.  be unique and anbeated at the moment.

  31.  Some dozens of traces are related to the protocols; hypertext lets you have
  32.  quick access to all the information; the EDIT function lets you insert your
  33.  own comments and experiences... have you ever seen such a system before?

  35.  Your daily work with protocol analyzers will be supported by BANalyzer:
  36.  Setting protocol filters (offsets+values), interpreting/evaluating the
  37.  decodes, documenting the results, changing driver settings... BANalyzers

  65.  on a 80486 computer (or faster).

  114.  Beim vorliegenden Programm "BANalyzer" handelt es sich um eine Software,
  115.  die verschiedene Funktionen erfüllt: Sie ist elektronisches Lexikon,
  116.  Datenbank und Bibliothek zugleich.

  118.  Der BANalyzer ...

  120.  - ist das vermutlich umfangreichste Lexikon dieser Art zum Thema der LAN- 
  121.    und WAN-Protokolle bzw. -Datentechnik, einschließlich einer umfangreichen
  122.    Sammlung sogenannter "Traces" (Mitschnitten von Netzwerk-Datenverkehr);
  123.  
  124.  - besitzt eine einmalige Visualisierung der Struktur von "packets"
  125.    und "frames", indem ein den PC/Analyzer passierendes Datenpaket
  126.    simuliert wird;
  127.  
  128.  - bietet umfassende Bibliotheken, so beispielsweise Fehler-Archive, in 
  129.    denen der Anwender eigene Erfahrungen festhalten kann, ein Literatur- 
  130.    und Stichwort-Verzeichnis... und vieles mehr.

  132.  Nunmehr werden über 100 LAN- und WAN-Protokolle bzw. Protokoll-Varianten 
  133.  "dekodiert" (einige noch unvollständig); ein solcher Umfang dürfte 
  134.  - zumindest in dieser Form - einmalig sein.

  136.  Logische Verknüpfungen sowie Hypertextfähigkeit sichern schnellen Zugriff 
  137.  auf die gewünschten Informationen. Ein leicht faßbare Struktur samt 
  138.  Integration des DOS-Editors erlauben dem Benutzer, eigenes Wissen in das 
  139.  System einzugliedern.

  141.  Praktisches Vorgehen bei der Arbeit mit Protokoll-Analysatoren wird in
  142.  allen Arbeitsschritten unterstützt: Das Setzen von Protokoll-Filtern
  143.  (Offsets+Werte), das Interpretieren der dekodierten Traces, das Dokumen-
  144.  tieren der Ergebnisse, Veränderungen in Treiber-Dateien.

  146.  Und aktuell bleibt dieses Informationssystem, da es ständig ergänzt und
  147.  überarbeitet wird: Es können Updates (umfassen neuste Programm-Version
  148.  und neueste Daten) im Dauer-Abo oder per Einzelbestellung bezogen werden.
  149.  Demnächst soll zusätzlich eine BANalyzer-MAILBOX eingerichtet werden, die 
  150.  den Lizenznehmern jederzeit Zugriff auf alle Neuerungen geben wird.
