  1. How to modify an application to make the windows internal procedures instead
  2. of storing them in an external window, (.DBW), file.
  3.  
  4. We will convert the "CASHCODE" tutorial database application for use as a
  5. common reference.

  8. Step 1  Convert the windows to procedures.
  9.  
  10. Use the DataBoss utility "PROCWIN.EXE" that will allow you to view a ".DBW"
  11. file and will generate the code for the windows.
  12.  
  13. Load CASHCODE.DBW then Choose "C Function" followed by "All Windows".
  14. You are prompted for the DOS name of the file to write the code into, enter
  15. CASHCODE.WF into the box provided.  Now you are prompted for the base name
  16. for the procedures to be written, into the bow type:--  InternalWindow
  17. this means that you will get two functions, (as there are two windows),
  18. called  InternalWindow1 and InternalWindow2.

  20. Now quit back to DOS.

  23. Step 2  Create a custom skeleton.
  24.  
  25. Copy DBC.SKL to CASHCODE.SKL then make the following modifications just
  26. before and inside the "do_menu()" Function.

  64. Step 3  Generate compile and run the modified application.

  66. Just follow the usual DataBoss generation steps for CASHCODE except remember
  67. to change the generate screen so the skeleton used is CASHCODE.SKL in place
  68. of DBC.SKL.
