  3. What is the Connection Between Homosexuality and Evolution?

  7. Just last week I participated in a news conference with other
  8. Christian leaders in Southern California, announcing a strategy to
  9. overturn a recent "Human Dignity Ordinance" passed by the San
  10. Diego City Council, declaring homosexuals to be a special,
  11. favored class of citizens.
  12.  
  13.      Such ordinances are being proposed and passed all over
  14. America; this is not just a California problem, although it grips
  15. California as it does few other states.
  16.  
  17.      How can this be? How can it be, that in America, where
  18. individual rights are constitutionally guaranteed to all
  19. (including homosexuals), governing bodies could even contemplate
  20. granting favored status to a behavior-based group, especially a
  21. sexually based behavioral group? Even more, this group is known
  22. for its total preoccupation with sexual activity, and a type
  23. which is abhorrent to the majority of Americans.  Such favored
  24. status can only be granted at the expense of individual rights
  25. normally granted to mainstream Americans.  This makes sense only
  26. when seen as part of a larger, even more insidious plot.

  28.      Readers of these pages are quite familiar with the social
  29. implications of evolutionary thinking.  Now, I am not saying that
  30. if one holds to evolution he necessarily supports homosexuality. 
  31. I am saying, however, that nearly all homosexual leaders are
  32. evolutionists, and when pressed for justification of their
  33. homosexual lifestyle and behavior, homosexual leaders almost
  34. always refer to evolution.

  36.      "We are descended from animals," they say; "we have certain
  37. animal desires that must be satisfied.  Few animals mate for life,
  38. and many times animals of the same sex interact sexually.
  39. And didn't all bisexual animals evolve from asexual animals?"
  40. More sophisticated homosexuals would call the homosexual condition
  41. a"beneficial mutation. "They are "born gay."
  42.  
  43. Others point to certain animal groups which lessen their
  44. reproduction rate when the population fills the ecological niche. 
  45. "This is a way to fulfill one's sexual needs without overpopulation;
  46. this is natural selection in action."
  47.  
  48. The Bible calls such behavior "reprobate," and homosexual justifi-
  49. cations such as are normally given must deny the Biblical mindset,
  50. which is founded in the creation of all things by a holy God, who
  51. created mankind male and female, in His image, with proper
  52. function in a marriage relationship.
  53.  
  54.      Here in California, the situation is perhaps more prominent
  55. than in most places, and is getting worse.  Recently, The
  56. Chalkboard, the newsletter of the Gay and Lesbian Educators of
  57. Southern California, reported a meeting with Mr. Bill Honig,
  58. California State Superintendent of Education.  Mr. Honig, well
  59. known for his aggressive advocacy of evolution (as well as his
  60. aggressive opposition to creation),invited leading homosexual
  61. educators into his San Francisco home to discuss ways of better
  62. including the teaching of the homosexual agenda in California
  63. public school classrooms (Chalkboard, Vol. 11, No. 8, October
  64. 1988).  Evolutionary schools provide fertile ground for
  65. homosexuality.  This bodes ill for California, but as is well
  66. known, trends set here are usually soon followed by the rest of
  67. the country.  Christians must become informed and involved, in
  68. order to turn this trend around.
