  3.           "ORIGINS" -- AN ANSWER TO EVOLUTION
  4.                        FILM REVIEW

  6.    "The battle for humankind's future must be waged and won in the
  7. public school classroom by teachers who perceive their role as the
  8. proselytizers of a new faith... These teachers... will be ministers of
  9. another sort, utilizing a classroom instead of a pulpit to convey
  10. humanist values in whatever subject they teach, regardless of the
  11. educational level-- preschool day care or large state university.  The
  12. classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old
  13. and the new--the rotting corps of Christianity, together with all its
  14. adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of humanism... "

  16.    So stated John Dunphy of the University of Illinois in his article,
  17. "A Religion for a New Age" which appeared in the January/February 1983
  18. issue of THE HUMANIST.
  19.  
  20.    Dunphy--as have other humanists before him--has clearly defined the
  21. enmity which exists between the God-haters of this generation and true
  22. believers in Christ.
  23.  
  24.    It is significant that Christianity is singled out as the object of
  25. the humanists' wrath.  This is because humanists recognize
  26. Christianity as the only obstacle to their plans for a godless society
  27. wherein dwelleth unrighteousness.
  28.  
  29.    Thus we have seen a consistent effort on the part of our enemies to
  30. capture the minds of our youth by using our public schools to teach
  31. their anti-Christ doctrines.
  32.  
  33.    Evidence of this warfare between Christianity and humanism abounds
  34. within our educational system, especially in its preoccupation with
  35. and bias toward the teaching of evolution. This to the exclusion of
  36. even considering the scientific evidences against that theory.
  37.  
  38.    But now, thanks to Eden Films of Elmwood, Illinois, Christian
  39. pastors and teachers have another effective tool to aid in thier fight
  40. against the humanist influence in the secular classroom.  ORIGINS--HOW
  41. THE WORLD CAME TO BE is a six-part film series presenting the creation
  42. science viewpoint.  Narrated by Dr. Arthur E. Wilder-Smith, one of the
  43. world's most acclaimed scientists, and featuring a host of other
  44. well-known scientists who hold the creationist position, ORIGINS
  45. refutes with hard scientific evidence several of the more notable
  46. arguments of the evolutionists.

  48.    The series carries a salvation message as a closing statement.  But
  49. its format is generally scientific in scope, and wisely considers the
  50. evidences for creation and evolution on their own merits.  In this way
  51. the films are designed to appeal the honest, inquiring, intellectual
  52. mind, while at the same time presenting their message in terms easily
  53. understood by the layman.

  55.    The six thirty-minute films are entitled: THE ORIGIN OF THE
  56. UNIVERSE; THE  EARTH, A YOUNG PLANET?; THE ORIGIN OF LIFE; THE ORIGIN
  57. OF SPECIES; THE ORIGIN OF MANKIND; and THE FOSSIL RECORD.

  59.    ORIGINS won the 1982 award from the Christian Film Distributors
  60. Association as the Best Film Series of the Year. In addition, film
  61. number three in the series, THE ORIGIN OF LIFE, won the award as Best
  62. Documentary of the Year.

  64.    This series is a must for churches desiring to protect their
  65. people--young and old alike--from the onslaught of humanistic
  66. non-values and arm them with the truth.  Once students see these films
  67. they'll rightly question what they hear in the classroom.

  69.    Proverbs 11:9 tells us "...through knowledge shall the just be
  70. delivered.  "This knowledge is God's knowledge, "...for the Lord is a
  71. God of knowledge"  (1 Sam 2:3).  ORIGINS offers knowledge of God's

  77.    We are in the last hours of this age.  What we do to win souls and
  78. protect God's people from the present danger will have eternal
  79. consequences.  We must take advantage of every means that God has
  80. provided to carry out His work.
