  1. WAR:The Excommunication of Albert Rivera  by Charles H. Shofstahl

  3.    I want to let you know about Dr. Alberto Rivera, the ex-Jesuit
  4. priest who has been so promoted by Chick Publication in their comics,
  5. etc.  People need to be made aware that on July 16, 1989, Alberto
  6. Rivera was removed from his pastorate and excommunicated from his
  7. church, the Los Angeles Christiana do Los Angeles, by unanimous vote of
  8. the congregation.  Letter from the church had been sent to him dated
  9. May 21, June 11 and June 18, 1989, asking him to appear before the
  10. church and give account and make restitution for debts he has incurred
  11. that had been signed for by Christian bretheren in good faith.  Part of
  12. the money was used for radio and TV broadcasts, and part for
  13. automobiles, mobil homes, and a quanity of folding chairs (500 to be
  14. exact).  Rivera's behaviour established him as a swindler and a
  15. deceiver, according to the letter informing him and the public of his
  16. dismissal from the pastorate and excommunication from the church. 
  17. Among these whom he swindled are:  Donald Blanton, Carlos Orea,
  18. Francisco Javier Narvaez, Daniel Soria, Abraham Valdivia, and Ismael
  19. Guerrero, M.D.

  21.    This letter is among a packet of documents sent to me by Donald
  22. Blanton, who had been administrator of the Antichrist Information
  23. Center, established and run by Alberto Rivera.  Blanton asked me to
  24. warn others not to support Alberto Rivera, for he is an unconverted
  25. man.  The problem is that so many are too anxious to receive people
  26. such as Alberto Rivera, who have professed to have left the Roman
  27. Catholic priesthood, and want to support these peolpe in exposing the
  28. Romanist institution as the whore of Revelation 17.  They cast aside
  29. any reservations and wholeheartedly accept the claims of these men, and
  30. they are thus easily deceived.

  32.    Of course, Alberto Rivera is not claiming that Donald Blanton, who
  33. left the Roman Catholic institution about five years ago, is actually
  34. an infiltrator trying to destroy a good work.  I would vouch for
  35. Blanton.
