  5. |                     Can Salvation Be Lost?                       |
  6. |                                                                  |
  7. |  Can a person who has accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord commit   |
  8. |  grievous sins and still go to heaven upon death?  In other      |
  9. |  words, can a Christian lose his salvation?                      |
  10. |                                                                  |
  11. |  Jesus said, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and      |
  12. |  they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never  |
  13. |  perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand" (John 10:27-28). |
  14. |  Satan and his demons would try to "yank" believers out of God's |
  15. |  hand if they could for they are enemies of God and His saints.  |
  16. |  But the evil ones can only tempt Christians to fall into        |
  17. |  grievous sins, never can they remove us from God's grip.        |
  18. |                                                                  |
  19. |  Neither can Christians "jump" out of God's grasp through sin,   |
  20. |  for the Bible says, "He who began a good work in you will carry |
  21. |  it on to completion..." (Phil. 1:6).  God will not give up on   |
  22. |  sinning Christians; for example, Moses sinned by murdering,     |
  23. |  King David committed adultery and murder, and Peter publicly    |
  24. |  denied Christ, and yet each were forgiven and held secure in    |
  25. |  his salvation by God's love and grace.                          |
  26. |                                                                  |
  27. |  God says, "It is by grace you have been saved...not by works"   |
  28. |  (Eph. 2:8-9).  Our good works could not gain us initial         |
  29. |  salvation, nor can they maintain it.  Those who trust in Jesus  |
  30. |  receive the secure gift of eternal life and will never perish.  |
