2) Type in "INSTALL" <enter> and follow the on-screen instructions.
3) Once the installation has finished, change to the game directory on the

5) Type "USM2" to start the game, and then select the league that you wish
to use.
WINDOWS 95 or Windows 3.1/3.11
If you are using Windows 95 or Windows 3.1/3.11, it is recommended that
you make sure that USM2 is the only application that is running. Not only
will this increase the performance of the game, but it will also lower the
chances of you experiencing any problems or compatibility issues with the
game. If you are running any Third Party Shells for Windows (such as Norton
Desktop, KidDesk, Packard Bell Navigator, etc.) then it is recommended that you
temporarily disable these when installing and running the software to avoid
problems. Also, if you are using file deletion tracking utilities such as
Mirror, SmartCan, Undelete, etc., please disable these utilities as well before
installing USM2.
Please remember that USM2 is primarily a DOS-based product. If you are
experiencing any problems, then make sure that you have a completely clean
Windows environment, and if you are still experiencing problems, then we would
recommend that you try running the game in DOS instead as it was originally
intended.
1) Click on the Start button, and the Run option. Type in "D:\INSTALL"
(assuming that Drive D is your CD-Rom drive) and press <enter>
2) Follow the installation instructions, selecting a directory for the game to
be installed in.
3) Once the installation has finished, you will need to run the SETSOUND
utility. To do this, click on Start again, and then Run, and type in
"C:\SIERRA\USM2\SETSOUND" followed by <enter>. If you have installed to a
different directory to the default, then type in
"<drive letter>:\<directory patch>\SETSOUND".
4) Within this program, you need to select the sound card that is installed in
your machine, and then save and exit the software.
5) To run the game, you should type in the Run dialogue box
"C:\SIERRA\USM2\USM2" or substitute the relevant path to your USM2 directory
before running USM2.

GAME INFORMATION AND REVISIONS TO DOCUMENTATION
***********************************************
Demo Version is missing features including the following;
No speech during game
Limited number of matches
No access to multiplayer options
No access to tactics editor
In the team selection screen, rather than having to select players and then
click on the 'Swap Position' button, you are now able to pick up the player
name using the right mouse button, and then drag and drop the player to
swap with another person in your squad.
As well as being able to switch off sound and music at the start of a game,
you can now also select the Config/Status panel. This is located by clicking
on the bar above the main menu bar selection. Here you will be able to see
a list of all managers playing, whose turn it is, and buttons for toggling
the sound effects and music on and off in the game.
To toggle speech on and off (full version only), press the F9 key.
Trophies will not appear until you have clicked on the 'Next Season' button
at the end of the season.
If you are unhappy with the way that the statistics have been set up then
you can change the entire set of league statistics if you so desire. These
sets of statistics can be saved by clicking on the SAVE button, and can
then be used for any subsequent games that you wish to start.
Friendly results will only appear if any of the Human players have selected
to play in friendly matches.
POTENTIAL PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
********************************
Problem: The install program says my machine as a 'Slow 486.' That's not
true! I have a very fast processor in my machine, such as a Cyrix 6x86.
Solution: When the program asks you if you want to run the game without
animations, select the option for 'No animations.' This will save the hard
disk space that the animations will otherwise take up. Once the program has
installed, go into the USM2 directory and delete the 'NOANIMS' file. Note
that this file has no extension so simply type in "DEL NOANIMS" and when you
start the game, the animations will run from the CD-Rom.
Problem: The animation's are running very slowly and jerkily on my machine.
Solution: The animation's can be disabled by creating a dummy file in the game
directory called 'NOANIMS'. From the DOS prompt, simply type in the command
EDIT NOANIMS, and when you get the (normally) blue screen up, type in
'SIERRA' and then save the file and exit the editor. To get the animation's
back, simply delete the NOANIMS file by typing DEL NOANIMS in DOS at the
game directory.
Problem: My Computer Locks up when Autodetecting the soundcard in the
SOUNDSET program.
Solution: This is normally caused by the Autodetect not being able to find
the correct settings for your soundcard. Try checking in your soundcard
documentation.
Problem: My game is crashing in Windows with 'General Protection Faults' or
'Illegal Operations.'
Solution: This is normally caused by more than one application trying to share
the same Windows resources (memory, for example). the best way to ensure that
this does not happen is to close down all other applications, or to quit out
of Windows altogether before running the game
Problem: After quitting out to MS-DOS mode from Windows 95, I am no longer
able to access the CD-Rom drive so I cannot play the game.
Solution: Some PCs that have come pre-loaded with Windows 95 may not have
DOS-based drivers loaded or acti
