  3. Accesses is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge
  4. to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  5. friends, and copy to bulletin boards, but do not give it away
  6. altered.

  8. You must read "Product Disclaimer & Registration Form" in
  9. ACCESSES.HLP to  be aware of the Disclaimer and to learn how to
  10. TEMPORARILY REGISTER ACCESSES TO AVOID THE NAG Windows!

  18. Everyone should read CHANGES.TXT.  CHANGES.TXT covers many user
  19. requested additions to Accesses that are "special features" and
  20. are sometimes not documented in ACCESSES.HLP.

  22. Registrations will receive a Windows Write format of the
  23. Accesses help file and the latest version of Accesses.
  24.  
  25. A special version of ACCESSES is compiled for Windows 3.0.
  26. The Windows 3.0 version of Accesses is AC030b.ZIP (or ACCES0.ZIP)
  27. and contains only the executable ACCESSES.EXE compiled for Windows
  28. 3.0 and will work in Win 3.1 but without DRAG DROP or Font changes.

  30. Some boards do not allow version numbers in the filenames; therefore,
  31. ACC30b.ZIP will be called ACCESS.ZIP for the Windows 3.1 version and
  32. AC030b.ZIP will be called or ACCES0.ZIP for the Windows 3.0 version.

  34. The ACC30b.ZIP (or ACCESS.ZIP) file contains the complete Windows 3.1
  35. program files:

  37.     ACCESSES.EXE    The main program for Windows 3.1.

  39.     ACCESSES.HLP    The help file in Windows HELP format,
  40.             Windows 3.0 and 3.1 compatible.

  46.     NORTON.TXT    An important note to Norton Desktop

  49.     CHANGES.TXT    Required reading for previous Accesses
  50.             version users. VERY INTERESTING
  51.             READING FOR OTHERS!

  53.     ACCDRIVE.EXE    Tiny pop-up that displays the free
  54.             drive space. Accesses must be running
  55.             before this program will operate since
  56.             Accesses provides "the engine" to run the
  57.             pop-up. The pop-up is a "bare bones"
  58.             program and will NOT operate without
  59.             Accesses! (for Windows 3.0 and 3.1)
  60.  
  61.     DAYALARM.EXE    Tiny Calendar, daily alarm, and
  62.             date calculator.  This program uses
  63.             the ACCESSES.INI file for initialization
  64.             data.  The program was developed to
  65.             use less than 1% of your system
  66.             resources so it can be on your computer
  67.             all of the time.  This program can be
  68.             launched without Accesses after Accesses
  69.             has built the INI file. (for Windows 3.0
  70.             and 3.1)

  72.     ACCDROP.EXE    Windows 3.1 Drag Drop program. Each
  73.             instance launched will launch Documents
  74.             Drag Dropped with the user defined
  75.             program. See ACCESSES.WRI. Accesses
  76.             must be running.
  77.  
  78.     BULLETIN.TXT    Recommends the text to use when uploading
  79.             the ZIP files to bulletin boards.

  81.     ACCESSES.WRI    An abbreviated Windows write Technical
  82.             document.  Contains the Tutor.

  84. The AC030b.ZIP (or ACCES0.ZIP) file contains ONLY the following
  85. programs for Windows 3.0:

  87.     ACCESSES.EXE    The main program for Windows 3.0.
  88.     README.TXT    This file.
  89.     VENDOR.TXT    Shareware and Vendor info.
  90.     REGISTER.FRM    Registration Information.

  92.     You must download ACC30b.ZIP to get the balance of the
  93.     programs and Text.

  95. You MUST Place ACCESSES.EXE, ACCESSES.HLP and ACCESSES.WRI in
  96. the same directory as the TASKMAN.EXE windows program. You must have 
  97. ACCESSES.HLP and and ACCESSES.WRI installed for the installation to
  98. work properly. After about a week, you can delete Accesses.hlp if
  99. you are short on disk space. The TUTOR is in ACCESSES.WRI.

  101. Accesses creates ACCESSES.INI when Accesses is 1st started & if an 
  102. ACCESSES.INI doesn't already exist.  Accesses automatically updates
  103. older version ACCESSES.INI files. IMPORTANT >> CLOSE YOUR OLD
  104. VERSION OF ACCESSES.EXE BEFORE REPLACING IT WITH A NEW VERSION.

  106. REMEMBER TWO IMPORTANT ITEMS FOR ACCESSES:
  107.  
  108. 1.   FILE EXTENSIONS ARE PREFERRED but not required
  109.  
  110. 2.   You MUST go thru the TUTOR in ACCESSES.WRI.
  111.  
  112. To Norton Desktop USERS:  READ NORTON.TXT.
  113.  
  114. Follow these steps BEFORE LAUNCHING ACCESSES for the 1st time...
  115.  
  116. During the installation process you will automatically be storing 
  117. currently opened window positions to your ACCESSES.INI file.  All
  118. of this can be easily edited by Accesses later but it helps to
  119. do some now.  You can easily modify the setup from Accesses later!
  120.  
  121. 1.   Make a backup copy of your SYSTEM.INI file NOW.  I will ask
  122. you if I can add taskman.exe=accesses.exe to your SYSTEM.INI file
  123. during the installation. (This change is not required but strongly
  124. recommended.
  125.  
  126. 2.   open one copy each of 5 or 6 of your most frequently 
  127. used programs before running ACCESSES.  If you're running
  128. windows in the Enhanced (386) Mode, open a DOS window as well and
  129. place the DOS window where you want it to be placed.
  130.  
  131. If you are running Norton Desktop, restore (not maximized and
  132. not minimized) the folders and drive windows of Norton.
  133. Read NORTON.TXT.
  134.  
  135. 3.   For now, Close or minimize duplicate programs. For example,
  136. Run only one 'Notepad'.
  137.  
  138. 4.   Move these programs to the window positions that you 
  139. want them to normally be in when in the 'Restored' (not maximized 
  140. and not minimized) positions. USE THE RESTORED POSITION for all 
  141. of these WINDOWS.  Tutor explains how to change any or all of
  142. these positions if you want to make changes later - it's easy.

  144. 3.   Then launch ACCESSES for the 1st time.
