  16. Installation Notes:
  17. -------------------
  18. To install ClipMate, just copy all of the
  19. Distribution Files to the directory of your
  20. choice.  It doesn't need to be in the path, and
  21. there are no funny environment variables to set.
  22. For the lack of anything better, create
  23. \windows\clipmate, and put the files there.

  25. Create an icon in the program manager with a
  26. Command Line that points to ClipMate.

  29. C:\windows\clipmate\clipmate.exe

  31. Effect on Your System:
  32. ----------------------
  33. The first time that you run ClipMate, it will
  34. create \windows\clipmate.ini.  WIN.INI is NOT 
  35. altered in any way, nor are any of your other
  36. system files.

  40. ClipMate will create and save the clipboard data
  41. into DEFAULT.CLM, or another .CLM file that you
  42. specify.

  44. System Requirements:

  46. ClipMate requires a VGA or better display (monchrome vga is ok).
  47. It will run in Real mode, but Standard is preferred, Enhanced
  48. mode is best.

  58. Known Problems:
  59. --------------
  60. Norton Desktop for Windows and Turbo Pascal for 
  61. Windows have a compatibility problem.  Until the
  62. vendors hash this out, ClipMate won't run under
  63. Norton Desktop.
  64. As a temporary workaround, try disabling NDW's Launch Manager.  Several
  65. users have reported that this works, and that this is an acceptable
  66. interim solution.
  67. Symantec supposedly has a fix for this, but it will cost you a slight
  68. performance penalty.  Contact Symantec Customer Support for more
  69. information on this, and mention that you're having problems running
  70. programs that were written using Borland's Object Windows Library.

  75.   Find and FindNext didn't actually put anything on the Clipboard.

  78.   On some XGA systems, the system font was so wide that it caused the
  79.   menu to wrap, which caused some of the controls to be hidden.  The
  80.   wide font is now detected, and the window is sized accordingly.

  83.   Fixed problem with Concatenate:
  84.   Bug in Windows causes negative values to sometimes be returned for
  85.   MAXAVAIL, which checks to see if there is enough contiguous free
  86.   memory to complete the concatenation.  Negative values are now ignored.

  89.   Fixed RunTime error 204 - occurred when editing Magnification Window,
  90.   in the event that the user deletes the item that is being edited.
