  3.  This disk contains Command Post 7.2D and Browser 3.94

  10.  Command Post is still Command Post.  A programmable, fast, effective,
  11.  and very powerful shell for the Windows environment.  It is text-based.
  12.  It is designed to either replace or supplement both the Windows Program
  13.  Manager and File Manager.
  14.  
  15.  Although the default menus supplied with Command Post are quite sufficient
  16.  for many people, the real power of Command Post comes into play when you
  17.  add your own menu items to it.  To do this, you *got* to print out all
  18.  the documentation, curl up in an easy chair, and spend some time reading
  19.  it.

  21.  For those who prefer a more GUI oriented shell, more like File Manager,
  22.  we offer our new File Commander.  With File Commander you can have most
  23.  of the power of Command Post and your own menu items attached to the
  24.  Windows File Manager menu.

  26.  The big news for the 7.2 series of Command post is summarized simply as

  42.  Most of the files will end in a $ until properly installed.  Some
  43.  files have been compressed and will be decompressed by the setup
  44.  program.

  52.  CP__VER  ???    A dummy file.  ??? is the current version number.

  54.  CMDPOST  CPM    MAIN menu file.  Normally you will not have
  55.                  edit this file.
  56.  CMDUSER  CPM    Sample USER menu file.  Once installed you
  57.                  WILL have to edit thisfile  to configure it for
  58.                  your system!
  59.  CMDPOST  EXE    The main Command Post executable file.
  60.  CP_DLLA  DLL    Required dynamic-link-library file.
  61.  WWWDEALR DLL    Another dynamic-link-library file.
  62.  CP_TREE  EXE    The Command Post tree.
  63.  TASKMANR EXE    Optional replacement for the Windows 3.0 Task
  64.                  Manager.  Brings up Command Post when you
  65.                  doubleclick on the screen background.
  66.  CP_BLNK  EXE    Our Clock/Blanker for Windows 3.0
  67.  WININFO  EXE    A utility to help determine window size and
  68.                  position.
  69.  CP_VIRT  BAT    A BAT file for running DOS apps.  Can change the PATH.
  70.  CP_PAUSE BAT    A BAT file that runs a DOS app and then pauses.
  71.  CP_ATTR1 DLG    A Dialog box used by the default menus.

  79.                HOW TO INSTALL COMMAND POST 7.2

  81.  Command Post is installed automatically, via our WSETUP.EXE
  82.  program, as detailed below:

  85.    1) Close down  >>>ALL<<< extraneous Windows applications.
  86.    2) Make sure you closed down >>>ALL<<< of OUR other Windows apps.
  87.    3) Double-Click on the WSETUP.EXE program
  88.    4) When the setup program asks for a directory, specify initial directory,
  89.       or accept the given default (C:\WINDOWS).

  91.  NOTE:  If you are updating from a previous version, and made any of the
  92.         Command Post files READ-ONLY, remove the read-only attribute from
  93.         the files before running setup.
  94.         (Or else the setup process will hang)

  96.                     UN-INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
  97.  
  98.  If, for some reason you wish to un-install Command Post from your
  99.  system, here is a checklist for doing so.
  100.  
  101.  1) Examine the SYSTEM.INI file.  If you manually installed Command Post
  102.     as your primary shell (See Docs), you must edit the SYSTEM.INI file.
  103.        Change
  104.            shell=cmdpost.exe
  105.        to
  106.            shell=progman.exe
  107.        
  108.  
  109.  2) Examine the WIN.INI file.  If Command Post starts automatically...
  110.        Change
  111.            run=cmdpost.exe
  112.        to
  113.            run=
  114.    If there is other stuff on the run= line, you probably want to
  115.    leave it there.  Just delete the cmdpost.exe from the run= line.

  117.  3) Delete the following files from the directory that Command Post was
  118.     installed into.
  119.         cmdpost.exe
  120.         cp_dlla.dll   (From the Windows Directory)
  121.         cp_tree.exe
  122.         browser.exe
  123.         wininfo.exe
  124.         cp_blnk.exe
  125.         cp_info.exe
  126.         cp_virt.bat
  127.         cmdpost.cpm
  128.         taskmanr.exe   NOT TASKMANG.EXE OR TASKMAN.EXE !!!
  129.         cmduser.cpm  (you may want to keep a copy around, esp. if you
  130.                       have put some work into this file.)
