Printer Switch
Version 1.02
Copyright (c) 1991 David A. Feinleib
Introduction
------------
- The Windows Version
The Print Switch program allows those users that have a Hewlett Packard laser
printer with a postscript cartridge to switch easily back and forth between
HPPCL mode and postscript mode.
Print Switch automatically changes both the mode of the printer and
the current printer driver.
To use the Print Switch program, place pswitch.exe on the load= line
in your win.ini file. This will cause Print Switch to be loaded
automatically every time you start Windows.
- Changing the printer mode
There are several ways to change the printer mode. The easiest way is
simply to double click on the Print Switch icon while the program is
running. This will automatically switch the printer mode. You may also
select "Switch To HPPCL Mode" or "Switch To Postscript Mode" from the
system menu, which you can display by clicking once on the icon.
- Configuration
Print Switch includes default settings for Adobe and Pacific Page
postscript cartridges. You may change the postscript cartridge by
selecting "Select postscript Cartridge" from the system menu. If you
have another postscript cartridge, you can select "Other" in the
dialog box and then type in the appropriate mode switching command
strings.
- The DOS Version
The DOS version of the program, which may be run by running pswitch.exe
from the DOS command line, allows you to switch printer modes from DOS.
The DOS version allows you to switch between HPPCL and postscript modes.
For more information, run pswitch.exe from the DOS command line.
The DOS version currently works only with Adobe postscript cartridges.
