  13. General Information:
  14.  
  15. Windows UnArchive is a program which is used to extract and decompress
  16. files from ZIP and ARJ format archives.  It takes the place of both 
  17. command-line DOS unarchivers and Windows-based front ends for those utilities.

  19. Windows UnArchive is the succesor to Windows Unzip, which is now discontinued.  
  20. Those with registered copies of Windows Unzip can still receive phone, mail, and 
  21. e-mail support, and an inexpensive upgrade option is to Windows UnArchive is 
  22. available.

  24. Features and improvements over Windows Unzip include:
  25.     
  26.       * 60% - 90% faster exploding than Windows Unzip
  27.       * Support for the ARJ archive format
  28.       * Ability to run a member file using its assocciation
  29.       * A new "Try Out" feature, perfect for trying downloads
  30.       * Cooperative multitasking while unarchiving

  32. To use Windows UnArchive you must have MS-Windows 3.0 or greater and you must run 
  33. Windows in Standard or Enhanced Mode.  Windows UnArchive will not operate in Real 
  34. Mode.

  36. To try Windows UnArchive, place the files WUNA.EXE and WUNA.HLP together in your
  37. windows directory, or some other directory in your DOS search path.  Put the file 
  38. BWCC.DLL in the system subdirectory of your windows directory.  (You may already 
  39. have this file from other programs.  If so, you only need one copy.  Keep the copy
  40. with the latest date.)  You can then run WUNA.EXE from Program Manager, File 
  41. Manager, or any other shell.  If you don't know how to use File Manager, or set up
  42. a program in Program manager, please refer to your Windows manual.

  44. Rather than explain how to use Windows UnArchive in this document, I have put all
  45. instructions in the help file, WUNA.HLP.  To view this file you can click the Help 
  46. button in Windows UnArchive or run the command-line: "winhelp.exe [path]wuna.hlp" 
  47. from Program Manager or File Manager.  (Look for the Run command under the File 
  48. menu in either program.)  If you have used Windows for any length of time at all, 
  49. and know about ZIP or ARJ files, you should find Windows UnArchive simple to use 
  50. with minimal use of the help file.  Even if you are an experienced Windows user, 
  51. please read the command-line section of the help file for some information on 
  52. using Windows UnArchive with File Manager.

  57. Windows UnArchive is not free.  It is a commercial Shareware product.  You are 
  58. permited to evaluate this product for 15 days.  After that time you must register
  59. or discontinue using the program.  The use of unregistered copies of Windows
  60. UnArchive, beyond the evaluation period, by any person, business, corporation, 
  61. government agency or any other entity is strictly prohibited.  The basic 
  62. registration fee for Windows UnArchive is $10.  Inexpensive upgrades are available
  63. for registered users of Windows Unzip 1.xx.  For instructions on how to register, 
  64. see the file ORDRFRM.WRI.

  85. Note that to gain support on the BBS you must logon under your own name.  Questions
  86. left under the demo name will be ignored as we have no way of knowing who you are.

  96. or evaluator assumes the risk of paying the entire cost of all necessary servicing,

  98. the author be liable for any damages whatsoever arising out of the use or the inability

  101. A limited license is granted to copy and distribute Windows UnArchive for the 
  102. evaluation use of others, as long as it is distributed without modification, 
  103. complete with all files.  No fee, charge or other compensation may be requested 
  104. with these exceptions:  Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may make 
  105. Windows UnArchive available for downloading, so long as there is no specific charge
  106. for the download of Windows UnArchive.  Vendors of user-supported or shareware 
  107. software may distribute Windows UnArchive, so long as any duplication and handling
  108. fees do not exceed eight dollars, and notice is clearly given that such fees do not
  109. grant the evaluator a license to use Windows UnArchive beyond the evaluation period.
