- Hi!
- These files are intended to be used with VidioScape 3D.
-
- NOTE: rename HST.geo to HyperSonicTransport.geo
-
- The files included can be assembled to yield a three or four part
- video. Three files are used to create each scene. VS 3D requires a motion,
- a camera, and a geometry file. Use HyperSonicTransport.geo in each scene
- along with the properly numbered mot and cam files. Use VS 3D to assemble
- each scene and then record it in an anim file. The anim files can then be
- played to an ordinary VCR one at a time. Record (on the VCR) scene one (from
- anim1), press PAUSE, load anim2, continue ....
-
- While each scene can be enjoyed by itself in the form of an anim file,
- the full effect comes when seeing the scenes played end to end from a VCR.
- If you are only going to use the anim format, start with scene3.
-
- The third scene will loop repeatedly in the anim format since the first
- and last frames are the same. The fourth scene does not integrate perfectly
- with the end of the third scene, but is interesting. Better alignment can
- be achieved by fiddling with Hyper4.mot and Hyper4.cam. If you don't mind a
- slightly jerky transition from scene3 to scene4 go ahead and tack it on the
- end of the video.
-
- I recorded my video using 352x400 resolution SOLID modeling with a
- black sky and a black ground.
-
- My system consists of an Amiga 1000 with:
- * Insider 1 meg memory expansion
- * KwikStart 1.2 rom kickstart eliminator (frees 256K)
- * CBM 256K front mount ram
- * 2-3.5 disk drives
-
- This video was the culmination of design project for a senior level
- aerospace design course here at CASE. Several universities around the
- country also have similar classes. Designs are then compared and
- critiqued at a seminar sponsored by NASA at Langley.
-
- Our design goal was to do a conceptual study of a feasible craft
- which could fly from New York to Tokyo in 2 hours. This requires a speed of
- mach 7 at 100000 ft. This very high speed causes a number of unconventional
- problems to arise. Like, "How do we keep it from melting?" A plane like
- this also requires exotic fuels like hydrogen.

- I hope you enjoy these pictures,
