O R D E R
(c)1992 Alan Farrell SHAREWARE
Suggested fee: Whatever you think is appropriate! (HAHAHAHAHA)
Welcome to summer, school's out and the Amiga is, once again, on!
Here is your latest chance for you to laugh at my shareware dreams. It's
called ORDER and once again, it is NOT an arcade game.
Order is a tile game played on a 7X7 board. Each tile can be one of 5
colors or can be blank. The purpose of the game is to make me lots of
mo...oops, the purpose of the game is to arrange the tiles in a way to
achieve the maximum order.
Each tile has a desire (don't we all!).
Red tiles don't like to be around other red tiles.
Blue tiles like to be around exactly 1 other blue tile.
Green tiles like to be around exactly 2 other green tiles...
Purple, exactly 3...
Yellow, exactly 4.
Points are awarded for satisfying the tiles desires. There is no right
way to arrange the board and I really don't know the maximum score for
any board. Experiment! Someone called this game easy to learn, hard to
master, I dunno, I just hope SOMEONE sends in the shareware to show
10. they like the game.
9. my articulate plea tore at your heartstrings.
8. they're sick of me whining about it.
7. our country is full of intelligent, beautiful people who APPRECIATE
my blood, sweat, and tears to bring a modicum of enjoyment into
others lives.
6. that my programming, unlike my readme files, is worthwhile and
should be rewarded.
5. that my readme files, unlike my programming, is worthwhile and
should be rewarded.
4. how sexy they think it is for a guy to spend LOTS of time programming
silly games in assembly that would take any moron 10 minutes in some
wimpy language like C or BASIC.
3. they appreciate weak sexual innuendo in a readme file about a TILE
GAME, for God's sake!
2. AMERICA IS GREAT! (Sorry, everyone ELSE throws that in to get money,
thought I would give it a try)
1. they appreciate ripoffs of Dave's top 10 lists!
Anyway, to run it either
type "order" at a CLI prompt like power users do or...
double-click on the silly, lazy man's icon provided.
BTW, requires arp.library in libs...why, I can't remember right now.
Notes you may want to read if you really like reading help files.
1. There is only 1 save file allowed. It saves all the boards to a file
called OrderLevels.save in the directory the game was started from.
2. This game is fun, really, IT IS. You really do WANT to pay me for it,
I can see it in your eyes! Really. Think fun. Think strategy. Think,
I sure should send this Alan guy some money, he really is great!
Strategy:
1 red tile alone is worth 1 pt.
2 blue tiles together is worth 4 pts, 2 pts each because each is
touching just 1 blue tile....ahhh...I see the light dawning!
1 green touching 2 other greens is worth 3 points, but string them
together for more pts as all the ones in the middle will be touching
2 other greens and earn pts.
1 purple touching 3 other purples earns 4 pts...see green hints.
1 yellow touching 4 other yellows earns 5 pts...see green hints.
Thats all folks! Enjoy! -AJF
