This document refers to software application 'When and Where',
version 1. Extensive details are provided in the on-line help. Without
exception all rights to When and Where belong in perpetuity to the
authors.
Note: This document and contents and all other references shall at all
times be subject to being superceded by a later version. At all times
the latest version of this application made publicly available by the
authors shall take precedence, immediately cancelling and replacing all
earlier versions and extents. Please contact the authors to clarify and
obtain the latest version.
Overview
========
'When and Where' is a Microsoft Windows (c)(r) application to help ease
the burden of scheduling sporting activities and events - it is not
limited to any sport in particular, and in fact will work for ANY
activity which requires a future schedule to be built! Any number of
divisions can be co-hosted, and each division can have up to 180 teams.
Scheduling includes team fixtures, venues/fields, and game officials too.
All features of this application are highly user-configrable to suit
any sporting arrangement, at any level of the sport.
If you evaluate this software and decide that it is not what you want
because it lacks a feature that you would really like to see, please
tell us - we may be able to help! In the past many good ideas which
have been implemented in our software applications have come directly
from user feedback - sometimes those ideas are turned around in just a
day or two, to the surprise of our users!
About Try-before-you-buy Software
=================================
Try-before-you-buy is exactly what it says - try the software for free,
and if it meets your needs, place an order to purchase it. If it
doesn't meet your needs then stop using it, delete it from your system
and you owe us nothing.
Target Audience
===============
The target audience for this application will be adminstrators who are
tasked with the responsibility to create league schedules, including the
scheduling of teams, venues AND game officials!
Major Features
==============
* Multiple/unlimited user-configurable divisions (team/player groups)
* Up to 180 teams in any division
* Unlimited playing venues
* Unlimited game officials
* Totally automatic and randomised schedule to select teams, venues AND
officials for every game scheduled
* User can manually create schedules - or override a schedule
automatically created
* Complete reporting capability for teams, venues, officials, and dates
* Up to 8 game officials per game - each with their own designated
position
* Venues and officials can be assigned to be either LOCAL to a
particular division, or GLOBAL to the entire database - venues and
officials can be shared between divisions if appropriate
* Venues and officials are totally optional - some sports will not need
these to be defined
* Venues and officials can have pre-defined dates and times set when
they are considered not to be available (vacations etc) - the
automatic scheduling features will avoid using those dates/times on a
per-venue and per-official basis
* All teams can optionally have a "home" venue set, inferring that all
home games are to take place at that venue
* User can enable aggressive selection of venues and officials, to
prevent the same venue/official being used by the same team twice
* User-configurable colour representation

Licensing
=========
When and Where is released under the try-before-you-buy concept (the
author is a member of the Association of Shareware Professionals). The
try-before-you-buy version is fully functional and unlimited for 45 days
or 30 hours of cumulative use to allow the user to fully evaluate the
software. On completion of the evaluation period the software will
still operate to allow the user to access data previously entered, and
to create new schedules.
During the evaluation period the user is provided with the right to use
the software for evaluation purposes, without obligation to obtain a
license. However, once the evaluation period is over (45 days from
installation or 30 hours use), this right is automatically revoked.
Licensing is provided on a named-individual basis only to help prevent
possible fraud/illegal distribution. Licensing will NOT be carried
out in the name of a club or other organisation.
The user is REQUIRED to obtain a license from the authors to allow
continued use of the software on completion of the evaluation period, by
payment of the requested fee (see the on-line help under 'Licensing'
for further information). Acceptance of the license fee by the
authors will provide the user with the non-transferrable, non-exclusive
and revokable permission to continue using this software, and both the
user and authors shall be bound to the terms and conditions as expressed
in the LATEST PUBLICLY AVAILABLE VERSION.
WITHOUT EXCEPTION all rights to When and Where and its extents,
including but not limited to copyright and intellectual rights, belong
to the authors in perpetuity - payment for licensing this software
does not under any circumstance transfer these rights. Licensing is
provided on a single-user basis only. Full details and terms and
conditions are contained within the on-line help under 'Licensing'.
Failure to obtain a license from the authors on completion of the
evaluation period, or attempting to extend the evaluation period using
methods not supported by the authors renders further use of the software
an illegal activity on the part of the user. Such activity will be
subject to legal action if considered appropriate by the authors.

========
Installation and/or use of this software is entirely at the users own
risk. With the sole exception of defective media (which shall be
replaced without charge if notified within 15 days of shipment) THERE IS
NO WARRANTY PROVIDED WITH THIS SOFTWARE.
Any and all harmful and/or unexpected side effects of installing and/or
using this software will be the sole responsibility of the person
undertaking the installation and/or use. Under no circumstance can the
authors be held liable for consequential effects of installing/using
this software. Any claims for damages and/or harmful effects shall be
limited to the maximum of a single license fee.
