**** KEYBOARD HELPERS **** Menu 5 - HELP Facility Page 1
The purpose of the Keyboard Helpers Menu is to let you select various
options that will affect the screen displayed keyboard and to 'toggle' them
them ON or OFF.
Each time you press a function key you will reverse the previous setting
of the option. If it's ON you'll turn it OFF, if it was OFF you'll turn it ON.
Each helper selected keeps its setting throughout all the drills and
exercises you select to type. They are not reset unless you change them, or
restart PC-FASTYPE. You can set as many helpers as you want to, but:

RETURN TO THE MENU..........

[ F2 ] - QUIET Mode
When QUIET mode is turned ON, all speaker sounds will be suppressed;
when it is turned OFF, all speaker sounds will be available.

[ F3 ] - Hidden Keys
When this feature is turned ON, all of the typeable letters and characters
on the screen keyboard keycaps will be erased. During drills, the key that you
are to type will pop up on its displayed keycap. During exercises, the delayed
prompt will cause the key to pop up after a short period of time has elapsed.

[ F4 ] - Outline HOME Keys
When this feature is turned on, boxes will be drawn around the ASDF and
JKL; "home" keys to aid you in correct placement of your fingers. This feature
might be desirable for use with the hidden key option.

[ F5 ] - 'BEEP' Keystroke Errors
This option enables a sound to emitted from the speaker when you make a
typing mistake. You can turn this feature ON or OFF. Normally it's on.

[ F6 ] - Align Finger Positions
This option draws vertical lines on the screen displayed keyboard to
separate the keys that each finger will control during typing.

[ F7 ] - Reset Keyboard Helpers
This feature RESETS all keyboard helpers that were previously set ON or
OFF using the Keyboard Helpers Menu. One exception, QUIET Mode will NOT be
turned OFF if you earlier set it ON. Press F2 to reset the QUIET Mode.

[ F8 ] - Set number of characters per drill
This feature sets the number of characters that you will have to type
during a drill before it ends and your typing score is measured.
To change the number of characters, first type in two numbers in the
range from 10 to 99 when the message is displayed after pressing F8. The
numbers you select will show on the message line in place of the underline
characters. You don't have to press enter, the line will then show a message
indicating the numbers you have entered.
If you've entered a number and you change your mind, just press F8 again
and change the number to something else, or press another function key before
entering a number. The number is preset at 20. The number in the brackets
[ ] at the end of the message line shows the current number setting.

[ F9 ] - Return to Main Menu
Pressing this function key will cause the MAIN Menu to be displayed.
Any keyboard helpers selected from this menu will remain in effect.

[ F10 ] - START Drill
This function key causes the screen keyboard to be displayed, keyboard
helpers to be drawn or set and the drill or exercise to begin.
