  1. SYS       Used to transfer the two hidden SYSTEM files
  2.           to a diskette or hard disk.
  3.  
  4. Format:   [D:Path]SYS DestD:
  5.  
  6. Example:       [C:\>]       SYS A:
  7.  
  8.    Transfers a copy of the two DOS hidden SYSTEM files
  9.    to the diskette in drive A. (The C:\> prompt includ-
  10.    ed in this example indicates that you issue this
  11.    command from your hard disk.)

  13. Example:       [A:\>]       SYS C:
  14.  
  15.    Transfers a COPY of the new version of DOS hidden
  16.    SYSTEM files to the Drive C: hard disk. These files
  17.    will replace the existing SYSTEM's files on your
  18.    hard disk by over-writing them.
  19.  
  20. [*]  The diskette that is to receive these two SYSTEM
  21.    files should either (1) be a data diskette that does
  22.    not contain any other files; or (2) be a system disk
  23.    you wish to update to the DOS version that is on
  24.    your hard disk.
  25.  
  26. [*]  A diskette that has the two system files on it,
  27.    from using the above SYS command, must now have the
  28.    COMMAND.COM file placed on it in order for the disk
  29.    to be used as a true "SYSTEM's" diskette that is
  30.    capable of "booting" your computer. This applies to
  31.    up-grading the hard disk to newer DOS versions also.

  33. [*]  Exercise EXTREME  C-A-U-T-I-O-N  in the using of
  34.    the SYS command, especially when up-grading the DOS
  35.    version on your hard disk! PC-Wizard's SYS command
  36.    should ONLY be used for creating systems diskettes!
