  65. ASCIGAME is a version of the simple, conventional computerized
  66. memory game. You are shown for a moment an increasing number of
  67. characters, and you have to remember what you were shown. The trick
  68. in ASCIGAME is that you have to give the ascii values of the
  69. characters instead of the characters themselves. You are given two
  70. attempts at each go, but if the first is wrong, you get no points.
  71. If both the attempts are wrong, the game is over. Have fun and
  72. learn.

  74. In order to be able to display the entire ascii character set in a
  75. graphics mode, you must first load the standard MsDos graftabl
  76. utility. There are some device drivers that may replace this need,
  77. and therefore you have a /g option available to bypass graftabl
  78. checking.

  88. The purpose of LINEGAME is to teach rudiments of analytic geometry
  89. in the form of a simple line fitting game. To get under way, just
  90. experiment a bit.

  104. WORDEXAM is an aid for cramming for vocabulary examinations in
  105. studying foreign languages. Vocabulary exams are very common at
  106. least in the Finnish schools. The basic idea of WORDEXAM is simple.
  107. You first prepare a bilingual vocabulary file with any editor (in
  108. doing that you will obviously learn much of the vocabulary).
  109. WORDAXAM then asks you one word after another in one of the
  110. languages, and you have to give the word in the other language.
  111. There are several switches in WORDEXAM to adjust the manner of
  112. conducting the exam. The format of vocabulary file is the following.

  115.    Title II (e.g. French)
  116.    First word in English, e.g.: school
  117.    First word in French         école, collège
  118.    Second word in English
  119.    :  and so on

  121. The maximum size of the vocabulary file is 1000 (pairs) ow entries.
  122. The maximum length of a row in the vocabulary file is 64. All
  123. entries beyond either of these limits will be discarded forthwith.
  124. The exam will then go on with the reduced set. No warning will be
  125. given.
  126.  
  127. If you omit the extension of the VocabularyFile name, the extension
  128. .voc is assumed. [Should you, for some unimaginable reason, want to
  129. use vocabulary file names that have no extension, terminate the name
  130. with a point (.), and the default extension will be waived.]

  132. Line editing (CursorLeft, CursorRight, Ins, Del, BackSpace, and Esc)
  133. is available when you give translations in the exam. Previous input
  134. can be recalled by pressing CursorUp.
  135.  
  136. The vocabulary can be scanned in its original order, sorted
  137. alphabetically (the /a switch) or sorted randomly ( /r ).
  138.  
  139. When you are asked to translate a word, exact ( /e ) or relaxed (the
  140. default) comparison to the correct answer can be selected. In the
  141. relaxed comparison, spaces, hyphens, and the upper/lower-case do not
  142. count. This goes for foreign characters as well. In the relaxed mode
  143. eg Ä and ä are considered equal, and so are e.g. É and é. - If a
  144. word has multiple translations (e.g. école, collège), ANY of them
  145. will be accepted. You must answer by entering one item only. The
  146. items in the vocabulary are separated by a comma or a semi-colon ( ,
  147. ; ). Note that space is not considered a separator. Thus e.g. the
  148. entry "to have; to own" is two items, not four.

  150. You can conduct the exam in either direction. If you want to switch
  151. the languages, use /s.
  152.
