DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM
________________________________________________________
TYPE GAMES is a SHAREWARE program. This means that you may
copy it and give it to friends, and that user groups and
bulletin boards may distribute it (as long as no files have
been altered). This gives you a chance to try the program
without having to spend a lot of money up front for
something that may not meet your needs. If TYPE GAMES is
useful to you, please become a registered user by sending in
the registration form. You become a registered user by
paying the registration fee directly to TexaSoft. Thank you.
TYPE GAMES is a game to help you practice typing. The game
displays a phrase on the screen, then you must type the
phrase in an allotted amount of time.
The game pits your country against an opponent. Each time
you type a phrase correctly, your team wins a point. If you
make a mistake, your opponent gains a point. A board
containing nine flags must be filled for one team to win.
TYPE GAMES requires CGA graphics, which mean that it will
run on most composite graphics, CGA, RGB, EGA, PGA, MCGA and
VGA type monitors. It will not work on "Hercules" type
monochrome graphics monitors unless you are using a CGA
simulator such as SIMCGA or HGCIBM.
When you begin TYPE GAMES, you will choose your country

(your team), and your opponent. Next, you will choose the
level of difficulty of phrases to type. Typically, your
choices will be:
1) Easy phrases
2) Longer phrases
3) Phrases with punctuation
After you choose one of these options, you must then
choose the speed at which you will be required to type the
phrase, a value between 1 and 100. The number 1 is the
SLOWEST, and 100 is the fastest. Try about 50 to begin
with, and adjust the speed later to your expertise.
The program will display a phrase on the screen and a
timer will appear in the upper right corner. You must type
the phrase correctly, including upper and lower case
letters and punctuation before the timer gets to 0.
If you do not type in the phrase correctly in the allotted
time, your opponent gets the point. The scoreboard on the
screen will keep track of who is winning. Remember, it
takes 9 points (flags) to win.
