  28. INSTALLING WINZLE!
  29. ------------------
  30. Installing Winzle! is easy, but the specific process will vary depending 
  31. on how you received your copy of Winzle!. Two examples are given below. 
  32. The first is for copying from a floppy disk or CD-ROM. The second is for 
  33. a ZIP file downloaded from a bulletin board system (BBS). 
  34.

  36. From a diskette or CD-ROM:
  37. --------------------------
  38. First, create a directory for the Winzle! files:
  39.  
  40. Using the MS-DOS Prompt        Using File Manager

  42. Type MD\WINZLE            Click on the root directory (C:\)
  43. Press [Enter]            Click on File
  44.                 Click on Create Directory
  45.                 Type Winzle
  46.                 Press [Enter]

  48. Next, copy the Winzle! files to the newly created directory.

  50. Using the MS-DOS Prompt        Using File Manager

  52. C: [ENTER]            Make sure you have two windows visible in File
  53. CD\WINZLE [ENTER]           Manager. If not, click on Window, then
  54. COPY A:\*.* C: [ENTER]           New Window.
  55.                 In one window, click on the WINZLE directory
  56. (This is an example of           you just created.
  57. copying from a diskette.    In the other window, click on the drive
  58. For a CD-ROM, substitute       and then the directory where the Winzle!
  59. the drive letter and            files are located.

  67.                    can now "drag" the files to the WINZLE
  68.                    directory in the other window by moving
  69.                    the mouse cursor to the WINZLE directory.
  70.                 Once the mouse cursor is over the WINZLE
  71.                    directory, release the mouse button. This
  72.                    will copy all the highlighted files to the
  73.                    WINZLE directory.

  75. Finally, install the Winzle! icon on your Program Manager display.

  77. Method 1            Method 2 (the easy way)
  78. --------            -----------------------
  79. Using either keyboard or    In File Manager, click on WINZLE.EXE in the 
  80. mouse, switch to the program       WINZLE directory. DO NOT RELEASE THE MOUSE 
  81. group you want to install       button. "Drag" the mouse cursor to the 
  82. Winzle! in (usually "GAMES"),       Program Manager program group you want to 
  83. then click on:               install Winzle! in (usually "GAMES"), then

  96. If you have a registered copy of Winzle!, repeat this step for 
  97. BMP2WZL.EXE. This is the program that allows you to create your own 
  98. puzzles from Windows BMP files.

  103. From a ZIP'd file:
  104. ------------------
  105. For the novice user, it's easiest to "unzip" and install Winzle! from the 
  106. MS-DOS prompt (if you are an experienced user, you probably aren't 
  107. reading these instructions, anyway, so we're going to ignore you for the 
  108. time being). Please note that un-Zipping a file requires a copy of 
  109. PKUNZIP.EXE, which is available on virtually all bulletin boards and 
  110. online services such as Genie and CompuServe.

  112. First, create a directory for the Winzle! files. At the MS-DOS prompt, 
  113. type "MD\WINZLE" (without the quote marks), and press [Enter]. Next, 
  114. switch to this new WINZLE directory by typing "CD\WINZLE" and pressing 
  115. [Enter]. 
  116.  
  117. Next, unzip WINZLE.ZIP into the newly created directory. As an example, 
  118. if the WINZLE.ZIP file is in the directory C:\DOWNLOAD, then type: 
  119.  
  120.    PKUNZIP C:\DOWNLOAD\WINZLE.ZIP
  121.  
  122. Assuming you are in WINZLE directory, all the Winzle! files will be 
  123. unzipped there (If that's not where you are, no telling where they will 
  124. end up. Make sure you type CD\WINZLE before this step).

  126. (By the way, once you have unzipped Winzle! you can delete the WINZLE.ZIP 
  127. file if you want. You won't be needing it anymore.)

  129. Now that the Winzle! files are properly located on your computer, all you 
  130. need to do is install the Winzle! icon on your Program Manager display. 
  131. Return to Windows and:

  158. ABOUT VBRUN200.DLL
  159. ------------------
  160. All MS Visual Basic 2.0 programs require the use of a library file called 
  161. VBRUN200.DLL. This includes Winzle!. Depending on how you received this 
  162. copy of Winzle! you may or may not have received VBRUN200.DLL. 
  163.  
  164. If you DID receive VBRUN200.DLL with Winzle!:
  165. ---------------------------------------------
  166. You may not need it. Check your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory to see if a copy 
  167. is already there. If so, then you can delete the copy that came with 
  168. Winzle!. If not, you need VBRUN200.DLL either in that directory or in the 
  169. WINZLE directory. We recommend that you place it in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM 
  170. directory so that all programs can share it, thus meaning you only need 
  171. one copy on your computer.

  173. If you DID NOT receive VBRUN200.DLL with Winzle!:
  174. -------------------------------------------------
  175. You may not need it. Check your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory to see if a copy 
  176. is already there. If so, then you are set -- you don't need another copy. 
  177. On the other hand, if there is NOT a copy already on your system then you 
  178. need to get a copy (by the way, we apologize for not including it, but 
  179. most BBS's and information services prefer that we don't. Otherwise, 
  180. there would be thousands of duplicate copies of this file included with 
  181. other programs, taking up disk space better used for other things). Like 
  182. PKUNZIP, copies are available free on most BBS's and information services 
  183. like CompuServe and Genie. If you got Winzle! off a CD-ROM, there is 
  184. probably a copy available somewhere on that CD.

  187. REGISTERING WINZLE!
  188. -------------------
  189. Shareware is a means of distributing software. Under the shareware 
  190. concept, software may be freely copied and passed along to others, or 
  191. distributed through bulletin board systems or national networks. 
  192.  
  193. As a recipient of a shareware program, you may use the software for a 
  194. short trial period to determine if it meets your needs. If the software 
  195. is not suitable, then you can discard it. If you decide to use it, you 
  196. must pay by registering. When you register a Cascoly shareware program,
