  9.                Signs and symptoms of this dangerous
  10.                condition which can become
  11.                life-threatening are: shivering,
  12.                dizziness, numbness, confusion,
  13.                weakness, impaired judgement, impaired
  14.                vision and drowsiness.
  15.  
  16.                Hypothermia victims pass through 5 stages,
  17.                with each stage more serious and leading
  18.                to death!

  20.               STAGE 1      SHIVERING

  22.               STAGE 2      APATHY
  23.  
  24.               STAGE 3      LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS
  25.  
  26.               STAGE 4      DECREASING PULSE AND BREATHING
  27.                            RATE
  28.  
  29.               STAGE 5      DEATH
  30.

  32.               FIRST AID
  33.  
  34.               Seek professional help. Get victim out of
  35.               the cold and into dry clothing. Warm the
  36.               body SLOWLY! Give nothing to eat or drink
  37.               unless victim is FULLY CONSCIOUS!

  39.               If trained, monitor airway, breathing &
  40.               circulation.
