When AeroChart fires up it looks for the file AEROCHRT.SYS. If it is not found
in the current directory it will be created. A subdirectory named CHARTS is
also created and filled with files AEROCHRT.DIR and AEROCHRT.000, so that the
very first time the Personal Charts option is selected from the main menu the
sample personal chart copied from SAMPLE.CHT can be viewed.
Well, that's how it is in a land without rain. If the install fails, be sure
you have all the files, and only those files, mentioned in the PACKING.LST
file. If your copy of AeroChart: the Personal Aerobic Exercise Log Book was
copied from an *installed copy* rather than a *distribution disk*, you will
have a AEROCHRT.SYS file and perhaps a CHARTS subdirectory already made. Delete
these items and start the program again. That should take care of the rain.
INSTALLING AeroChart
=============================
The following DOS command line sequence will create a new subdirectory,
install AeroChart on drive C: from distribution disk placed in drive A: and
then start the program.
c:\> MD \AEROCHRT c:\> MD \AEROCHRT
c:\> CD \AEROCHRT c:\> CD \AEROCHRT
c:\aerochrt> A:\AC120 c:\aerochrt> PKUNZIP A:\AC120.ZIP
c:\aerochrt> AC c:\aerochrt> AC
AeroChart will run on a two floppy system, but the program must be divided.
Extract each file seperately placing them on disks as indicated below using
PKUNZIP or from self-extracting file using this syntax:
To copy from drv A to drv B type: b:\> A:AC120 AC.EXE
Place the files on disks as show below:
Disk 1: AC.EXE SAMPLE.CHT
Disk 2: GUIDE.EXE AEROCHRT.WAY REGISTER.EXE
Disk 3: ASSESS.EXE (registered version bonus program)
Install on three disks. Place distribution disk in drive A and formatted blank
disk in drive B and then type:
a:\> AC120 B: AC.EXE
a:\> AC120 B: SAMPLE.CHT
Replace the disk in drive B with another formatted blank disk and type:
a:\> AC120 B: GUIDE.EXE
a:\> AC120 B: REGISTER.EXE
a:\> AC120 B: AEROCHRT.WAY
For Registered Version Bonus Program, replace the disk in drive B with another
formatted blank disk and type:
a:\> AC120 B: ASSESS.EXE
AeroChart can not launch the sub-modules placed on the second disk. Invoke them
from the DOS command line with:
