AB Holistic care addresses the physical, psychologic, emotional, and
spiritual dimensions of the patient. The spiritual dimension, however,
is frequently overlooked by health care providers. The development of
spiritual well-being is crucial in helping the person with AIDS find
meaning in life and death. Assessing spiritual needs of persons with
AIDS and promoting their spirituality are important nursing roles.
