- Mixing of Two Types of Particles
- ____________________________________
-
- 350 green particles start from the upper left corner of the
- container, and 80 red ones start from the opposite corner. Their
- initial temperatures are different. The temperature versus time
- functions for both types of particles are displayed simultaneously.
-
- We can observe the thermalization (evolution toward thermal
- equilibrium) of the system i.e. the average energy for both types of
- particles will approach a common equilibrium value and will fluctuate
- around that value. Note also that the temperature fluctuation of the
- green particles is smaller than that of the red particles because we
- have much more green particles.
-
- Control keys:
-
- <F2> : switch ON/OFF tracing of a randomly selected GREEN particle
- <F3> : switch ON/OFF tracing of a randomly selected RED particle
- <F4> : switch ON/OFF shot noise
- <F5> : switch ON/OFF mutual collisions of the particles
- <P> : temporarily suspend the simulation, resume it by pressing
- any key
- <Esc>: stop the simulation
