Mixing of Two Types of Particles
____________________________________
350 green particles start from the upper left corner of the
container, and 80 red ones start from the opposite corner. Their
initial temperatures are different. The temperature versus time
functions for both types of particles are displayed simultaneously.
We can observe the thermalization (evolution toward thermal
equilibrium) of the system i.e. the average energy for both types of
particles will approach a common equilibrium value and will fluctuate
around that value. Note also that the temperature fluctuation of the
green particles is smaller than that of the red particles because we
have much more green particles.
Control keys:
<F2> : switch ON/OFF tracing of a randomly selected GREEN particle
<F3> : switch ON/OFF tracing of a randomly selected RED particle
<F4> : switch ON/OFF shot noise
<F5> : switch ON/OFF mutual collisions of the particles
<P> : temporarily suspend the simulation, resume it by pressing
any key
<Esc>: stop the simulation
