QUICK START
~~~~~~~~~~~
1.. Copy GOLFTOUR.COM and GOLFTOUR.HLP to a separate directory
on your hard drive. The directory can be named C:\GOLFTOUR
as an example, however you may name it anything you like.
*** NOTE ***
You MUST have BOTH files (GOLFTOUR.COM and GOLFTOUR.HLP) in
the SAME directory.
The GOLFTOUR.HLP file replaces the Instruction Manual for
GolfTour and is available while running GolfTour by pressing
the <F1> Key when any "PullDown" box item is hi-lighted.
To get instant help with any menu option just hi-light that
option and press <F1>.
2.. Change to this directory and type GOLFTOUR and press <Enter>
3.. The TopMenu bar will show the following options:
"MISC ADD REVIEW EDIT UTILS PRINT QUIT"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4.. If you've never used GolfTour before you will need to create
at least 1 Tournament Record and 1 Team or Golfer Record before
you can add a Game Record. These items can be found by selecting
the "ADD" option at the TopMenu bar.
5.. The registered, commercial version of GolfTour is shipped with
a customized installation program that will install GolfTour to
the directory of your choice on your hard drive.
6.. The shareware version does not allow the user to access all
the options that are available in the registered version.
7.. To get a feel for running GolfTour and become familiar with
how to get the most out of it, create 1 or more "dummy" Tournament,
Team and Golfer records and then add several Game records. When
you become familiar with how it works, use the "Remove" options
found under the UTILS heading on the TopMenu bar to remove the
"practice" records and start over with a clean slate.
8.. See Page -6- for examples of the Flight Summary and Flight
Reports. A total of eleven (11) Flights are possible. This
includes the Championship Flight and Flights A (1st) through J (10th)

WHAT GolfTour DOES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GolfTour is a database program that will manage an unlimited
number of Golf Tournaments, Golfer and Team Records. Flight or
Brackets are based on the scores turned in by Teams or Golfers
on the first day of tournament play.
When registered, the capacities of GolfTour are limited only by
the amount of available memory and disk space. Due to the large
amount of data that can be stored by GolfTour, it is suggested
that GolfTour NOT be run from a floppy diskette as the available
space on a floppy diskette can be filled quickly to capacity.
Approximately 380K of available conventional memory is required
for GolfTour to load and run at peak performance.
GolfTour will allow a Tournament to be classified as either a
Team event (Teams from 2 - 6 Golfers competing against other Teams)
or an individual event (Individual Golfers competing against each
other).
If a Tournament is classified as a Team event, only Teams can record
scores. If a Tournament is classified as an Individual event, only
individual Golfers can record scores.
It is important to note that when entering records for a new
tournament, ALL Golfer or Team Records should be entered BEFORE
any Game Records are entered. Once all Golfer or Team Records
are entered, Game Records can be entered. When entering Game
records into the database for a tournament covering more than
one day, ALL Game Records for the first day of play MUST be
entered BEFORE any Game Records are entered for subsequent days.
If you need to change the score of a Game previously recorded,
use the "Edit Game" option found under the EDIT heading on the
TopMenu bar.
GolfTour will place the Teams/Golfers into Flights or Brackets
after ALL the scores are recorded for the FIRST day of play.
Flight/Bracket minimums and maximums are set by using the
"Edit Tournament" options found under the EDIT heading on the
TopMenu bar. After looking at all the scores for the first day
of play, you must determine how many flight you want then set
the minimum (low) and maximum (high) scores for each Flight.
After this is done, select the "Flight Tournament" option
found under the PRINT heading on the TopMenu bar. A PRINTER
IS REQUIRED before GolfTour will search the database for each
game recorded for the selected tournament and place them into
the proper Flights/Brackets.
REQUIREMENTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~
GolfTour requires a computer rated as being 100% IBM compatible.
Most clones on today's market will meet this requirement. GolfTour
requires a computer to have at least 512k of conventional memory.
Most computers available on the current market will have 640k as a
minimum with many offering 1 MegaByte or more. If you do encounter
memory problems running GolfTour, disable any TSR (Terminate-Stay-
Resident) programs such as pop-up clocks,
