TEACHER/DOCTOR ACCOUNTING SYSTEM
A series of programs to operate using Ashton-Tate's "Dbase II" Database manage-
ment system. Menu-based and sequenced logically, it permits the non-accountant
to:
#1. Automatically send billing statements (using plain-white pin-feed
paper) to all students or patients.
#2. Keep track of incoming checks, credits, adjustments very simply.
#3. On a monthly basis (or however your prefer):
A. Print a recap of cash receipts, credits, etc.
#1. For tax purposes, run a full report of income received
for any given year.
B. Print a full recap on financial "activity"
C. Print an Ageing Report to quickly show who's getting
behind in payments ... and for how long.
#4. As desired, print either a listing of students/patients with their
phone numbers or, if wished, a complete "Address Book" with the
above plus the name/address of the payee.
#5. Simple programs to automatically:
A. Add new students/patients
B. Edit or change the records on the above.
C. Establish a database file of ex-students or ex-patients:
#1. Deactivate a present student/patient to the "alumni" file.
#2. Reactivate an alumnus (or alumna) to the "active" file.
D. Run a blank attendence report for the new month for easy
day-to-day recording of lessons or treatments.
Hardware requirements:
The System was developed for use on an EAGLE PC-2 (IBM PC compatible), and
all printer codes and instructions are for the STAR SG-15 (same codes as used
on the Epson FX series). A hard disk is not necessary, though it probably
might be a trifle quicker.
Presumption: DBF files will be on the same drive as the programs. If you
change location, make appropriate changes in the programs that call up or
refer to these DBF files.
Acknowledgement with gratitude is given to many sources for ideas and di-
rections employed in this System, such as the several excellent books of
Messrs. Robert A. Byers, Adam B. Green and Carl Townsend on programming in
"Dbase II". The "Teacher/Doctor Accounting System" is truly no more than
organizing and applying procedures pioneered by such experts as these.
**************
"Teacher/Doctor Accounting System" is being distributed as "user-supported
software." There is NO WARRANTY, implicit or implied, that it will work for
you. The ONLY promise I can give is that it's worked for me for over two
years, keeping accounts for a stable of about 70 "active" records and an
alumni file of about 150 records. it should work just as well for files
several times that large.
**************
If you find it has usefulness for you, a contribution to and registration with
the author would be appreciated. $35.00 seems a fair amount.
If you have any suggestions on how to improve it, they too would be grate-
fully received ...
If you have questions or problems in using it, drop me a note with the
particulars and, as time permits, I'll try to help. I've seen how this
"System" has taken the burden of tedious pencilwork away from me.
