SCANLIST vers 2.1
RCPM-nnn.LST Search Utility
Copyright 1986 by Steven L. Sanders
Entered freely into the public domain for all to enjoy and for none to sell.
Portions of the compiled program are Copyright 1982, 1983 by Digital Research.
SCANLIST is a simple "look-up" utility used in conjunction with the RCPM-nnn
list file distributed every month by Jud Newell, Mark Rippe, and myself.
SCANLIST will allow you to quickly search the list by:
* areacode,
* system name, or
* state
* AREACODE *
The areacode look-up function is the simplest to use, just enter the 3-digit
areacode number you desire and all listings will be displayed one-at-a-time
fashion until you eof or quit manually.
* SYSTEM NAME *
The search by system name function allows you to input a system name if less
then 12 characters in length, if longer only the first 12 are accepted.
SCANLIST will show any matches one-at-a-time fashion until eof or you
manually abort with ^C during a search or with a "n"o answer to the continue
prompt.
* STATE *
The search by state is exactly that, you input the state desired and all
listings will be shown one screenful at a time with a y/n to continue prompt.
If you input CALIFORNIA, you will be further prompted for Northern or
Southern areas before the searching begins.
All three search options allow for the output to be sent to the CRT screen
or optionally to the printer for permanent hardcopy listings.
Modifications:
The default filename is located at hex address 270B thru 2716
It is currently: RCPM-073.LST
You may change this with DDT, PATCH, or DU to whatever you desire or leave it
as-is and change your actual disk filename for the current RCPM-nnn.LST name.
SCANLIST will attempt to open the file RCPM-073.LST on the current drive/user
and if it fails to find that particular filename, it then prompts you for the
drive and filename you wish to use. If it finds and opens the default file
then operation is quicker and you aren't hassled for a filename everytime.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMPORTANT NOTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
! !
! SCANLIST v2.1 will only work with the format of RCPM-073.LST or later. !
! Earlier listings were not formatted by state and will produce un- !
! reliable results if used for an input file. !
! !

Enjoy...
