  1.      You can add a category using a new
  2. category number, which must be three
  3. digits long, between 001 and 999.
  4.  
  5.      You need to have a name for the
  6. category, which can be 27 letters long.
  7. It is a good idea to have a name that
  8. isn't confusing with other names you
  9. might have for the categories.
  10.  
  11.      You will also need some
  12. "attributes".  If you remember that the
  13. first letter of the attributes must
  14. be either "I" or "E" (for income or
  15. expense), you will get by, but check
  16. the manual for complete details.
  17.  
  18.      You can change an existing
  19. category name or attributes.
  20.  
  21.      If you haven't used a category yet
  22. this year, you can even delete a
  23. category.
