  1. CPMUG ABSTRACT.086:

  3. CPMUG volumes 86-90 contain "BusinessMaster II", a comprehensive smallì
  4. business software package for CBASIC-II.  There were seven singleì
  5. density disks originally contributed:  five program disks, oneì
  6. documentation disk, and one sample file disk.  I combined these sevenì
  7. disks to produce five CPMUG volumes.  Thus not all references in theì
  8. various documentation will directly apply disk by disk, but all theì
  9. files submitted are included.
  10.  
  11. Only the files "CRJOSORT.BAS", "VPJOSORT.BAS", and the submit files forì
  12. copying, XREFing, pipping, and compiling with printing which are in theì
  13. documentation, were not included.  The contributor felt the two missingì
  14. ".BAS" programs to be unnecessary.  Also a minor bit of REMì
  15. documentation seems to be missing off of the front of GLJOSORT.BAS.

  17. I generated a compile submit file for each disk.  The submit files haveì
  18. the form:

  22. Thus to compile them from the A: disk to the B: disk, type:

  25.  
  26. There are six .BAS files which are on every disk: ALL, FORMAT, CONTROL,ì
  27. CHECK, READFILE, AND BIZMII.

  29. The reminder of this abstract is the press release officially releasingì
  30. BusinessMaster II into the public domain.

  42. For the protection of those who have purchased a package of Generalì
  43. Business Software known as BusinessMaster II or Visaccount (which was,ì
  44. as of March 1982, at least 95% derivative of Business-Master II) fromì
  45. either OEM software (a Star Computer Systems company), Computer Servicesì
  46. Corporation of America, 800-Software or other dealers OEM Software hasì
  47. established we are hereby declaring this old version of BusinessMasterì
  48. II in Public Domain.  The Copyright notices were removed by OEM Softwareì
  49. and the package was then sold to over 400 dealers for $375.

  51. One of many dealers purchasing the package was Computer Servicesì
  52. Corporation of America.  Buck Lindsey CEO of Computer Servicesì
  53. Corporation of America advised me last year that he felt the package wasì
  54. in the public domain and whether it was then or not, it is now.
  55.  
  56. Computer Services Corporation of America made some minor changes to theì
  57. package and renamed it VisAccount.  Additionally they made 800-Softwareì
  58. a discount dealer.
  59.  
  60. We are placing this package in [the] Public Domain to clear up a problemì
  61. that has been generated for literally thousands of people who purchasedì
  62. this package from one source or another and currently do not know whereì
  63. they stand.

  65. For those End-Users who are not satisfied with their Version ofì
  66. BusinessMaster II or Visaccount we will exchange your package for theì
  67. new and much improved BusinessMaster II+ for $100.  Simply mail yourì
  68. original diskettes (OEM or Visaccount) and license to us.  We will putì
  69. the new package on your diskettes with new labels, a new licensingì
  70. agreement and a new manual and return it to you.

  72. For dealers who purchased BusinessMaster II from OEM software, you mayì
  73. continue to do as you wish with the package but we cannot upgrade yourì
  74. package to BusinessMaster II+.  However we do offer dealer discounts onì
  75. our newer packages.

  77. We have offered the package to the CP/M Users Group for inclusion inì
  78. their library on the understanding that it may be used in any way,ì
  79. either commercial or non-commercial by anyone who chooses to use itì
  80. provided credit is given for such use.

  82. We will continue to supply BusinessMaster II+ to end-users for $159 andì
  83. Businessmaster Plus with fully-formatted fill in the blanks screen and Bì
  84. Tree Indexing for $289.  These packages are compileable with minorì
  85. changes under CB-80.
